Silksong will probably be bought by millions on day one, and it’s a game with a very low development budget, because by budget I mean the developers worked for a long time without receiving any direct compensation. Essentially, the developers were financially independent and had free rein to develop the game, so this budget was practically nonexistent . I guess what they’re trying to say is that the previous game was successful, and a small team had free rein to develop it with that budget. That’s why they can set the price as low as they want. But by selling it at such a low price , they’re sending out a signal to the nerd level that a game of this caliber should be available for $20 . Once that nerd level of instinct is ingrained, they have to actually pay people. Games with real development budgets could be shut out unless they happen to be a random hit . So, you see, gamers don’t understand market principles, so they say that if a game this good sells for $20, other developers won’t be able to survive . It’s a simple economics argument because it’s taken for granted. If the price of what you’re supplying is higher than it should be and the quality isn’t there, it won’t sell. They set what they think is a reasonable price, and people buy it accordingly. Insulting customers isn’t a good strategy. If you want to charge a high price, you should focus on quality first. I was so angry at what you said that I ended up signing up for Blue Sky. If you want money, work for players, not trends. Excuse me, but this can only be good for consumers. Competition always benefits consumers and encourages other developers to create better products. Ultimately, it’s a win-win situation for everyone. I’m a developer working on a smaller game than Silksong, and I initially thought $20 was a reasonable price . But now I’m unsure about how much it should cost. I’m aiming for a gameplay time of at least 10 to 15 hours, but I’m the only developer and I have limited time and funds. I can’t afford to sell it for next to nothing. So, Silksong released a game of this quality for $20, and I ‘m not sure if it’s okay to sell my game for $20, but I think you can price it however you like. I’ll buy it. Good luck. ゲームの販売価格は個人の自由だと思います。
むしろ海賊版で遊ぶ感覚が理解出来ない😅
既に頭がヴァンサバ基準になってるからむしろ高いとすら感じる
影響が出るのはインディーズゲームよりむしろ大手メーカーのAAAタイトル(笑)でしょう
世界観を作って大迫力のムービーで没入感を出したいならゲームじゃなくて映画でも作っててください

ホロウナイトの価格設定ではなく独禁法的な意味で、業界がひっくり返りかねない様な気がしてきた。
途中のゲーマーの知能が低いって人、付いてるレス見たらそりゃゲーマーを下に見たくなるよな泣
そうはいってもゲームの価格はずいぶん前から「セール前提価格」という割高な設定が猛威を振るっている、セールをしなければ埋もれてしまうからだと開発者は言う。実績のあるゲームが市場で優位になるのは競争の常だ、それをわずか数か月で数字的なインパクトの為に50%や90%オフなんて売り方をされたら興味があるゲームでさえ安くなるまで買うのを控えるだろう、ユーザーにとって適正な価格がどこにあるのかを学んだからだ。
一昔前の廉価版のような価格改定は行わずにセールで値引きインパクトが常態化しているなら最初から安い方が嬉しい
薄利多売と言う言葉もある、何百億円もするAAAゲームをセールで$10-20で販売している現状の方がよほど小規模開発者の機会を奪ってはいないか?

今回の金額は、本来前作のDLCとして作られていたというのもあるのかなと思いました。
ほしいゲームなら何円でも買うので、ゲーム開発者さんは適正価格だと思う価格で販売してください。
買うかどうか迷う内容であれば、安さが決め手になりますが。
途中出てきた開発者も「うちは20ドルで売るのは無理だけど、ホロウナイトよりも面白いものを40ドルで売る」ってきっぱり言ってればカッコよかったのにな
昔、同人ゲームで似たようなことあったの思い出したけれど、それで界隈全体の価格が変わったとかなかったし、結局は制作側の情熱がプレイヤー側に伝わるかどうかよねって感想です

元々DLCとしてリリース予定だったシルクソングを単品でも動くようにしただけで
1から作ったタイトルとは全く違う事すら知らない奴が開発者面して経済を絡めて批判するとか世も末やな
今回はじゃなくて毎回ちゃんと買え
本当に面白いゲーム、発売を期待されているゲームなら高くてもユーザーは買うだろう。そういうゲームを作る自信はないのか?と言いたい。
そもそも非難されるは開発者じゃなくて海賊版利用者の方だろうに。売り上げに貢献してない方はどうでもいいのか?
ゲームに限らず、ビジネスなのだから少なくともリクープ出来る値段設定でよいと思う。すごく出来が良いのに内容がマニアックすぎてユーザーが限られるものは値段が高くていいし、大衆受けがよさそうなものは安くしてよりたくさん売ればよい。昔ビデオソフトでもブロックバスターって言って売れ筋の人気大作映画は通常の半額ぐらいの値段設定だった。
結局高くても安くても購入を決めるのはユーザーだし、相手を下げるよりも購入者が買いたいと思えるようPRする戦略が必要。
発売時期に関しても数か月前にシルクソングの発表あったからどうなるか予想して対策を立てるのも戦略。商売なんて競争してなんぼだろ。
そもそも安定して収入を得たいならもっと堅実な仕事を選べという

このゲームの作りってかなりストレスフルで前作遊んでない人には負荷がかかる要素全開で賛否両論なんだけど、
そんな意地悪なゲームを作る開発者達がユーザーファーストを徹底できるメーカーってのがなんか面白い。
価格に関しては今後DLCも確定してるからの安価な気もする。総合するとフルプライスくらいになりそうな予感。

隠居したアクセサリー作家が趣味で作った品を安価で売り始めたら、
消費者がその値段を見て、他の駆け出しの作家さんに「それより安くしろ!できなければやめろ!」と
(値段は安いけど数が少ないからすぐ売り切れてしまい、他の作家さんに攻撃を始めた構図らしいです)
脅迫まがいのコメントを連投して、その人の夢だったアクセサリー制作を断念させたりする事例を見たことがあります
攻撃的な値引き交渉は正当な権利だと思い込んで、激しく叱責していた様子でした
あとは、ちょっと毛色は違うけど
イオンモールが周辺の商店街をつぶしまくった挙句、思ったより儲からないからって撤退したり
会社が社員への福利厚生として会社前の自販機の値段を下げたら、近所の酒屋さんがつぶれたとか
趣味の副業として始めた珈琲店で、家賃が払えればいい程度の価格設定をしたら周辺のカフェがつぶれて
その後その珈琲店は本業が忙しくなったのか、好評のまま惜しまれつつ閉店したとかね
それを“正常な価格競争の結果だ”と捉えてるとしたら、ややバックボーンの調査不足と感じざるを得ません
日本だとシンプル1000/2000シリーズとかあるからなぁ。
別に安すぎるとは思えないよなぁ。
結局価値を判断するのは客だからね。
いくら作った側がこれだけのコストがかかっているんだって言い訳したって、客がその価値を認めなければ意味ない。

安い良作ゲームもあって良いんじゃないと思うのだがなぁ。安いと高額なゲームよりも抵抗感と経済的打撃が少なくなるし。ホロウナイトは色んな要素から実績もあるし、普段は海賊版を利用している層も買って後悔しにくいから金を出して買いたくなる層が多いだろうしね。過去に海賊版の利用者が調査された事があるが、海賊版の利用者は正規版の利用者と同じ層を併存している者が圧倒的に多く、大抵は正規版を利用しながら海賊版を利用しているから、今回の一件は一般的な海賊版ユーザーの購買意欲を煽る戦略の一つかもしれない。今回表に出ている様な海賊版しか利用しないヘビーユーザー層は海賊版利用者の中では一割でしかないが、普段腰が重い彼らが動いたという事は海賊版市場をも揺るがすほど効果が大きかったという事なのだろう。海賊版利用者が正規版に流れれば健全な市場経済の発展に繋がるし、個人的には好ましい行動だと思う。日本じゃあまりないが国によっては給料が安定してない人も居るだろうし、最低賃金が百円と変わらない人たちも国によっては居るからな。そういう人たちは今回の件でXで開発者達と争っている人達と違ってサイレントマジョリティーだから見えにくいし。グローバルにゲームが買える世界になっても重ならない高価格帯と低価格帯の二つの市場が存在する状態になっているからこそ、今回の件が起きたのだろうな。
この海賊版プレイヤーの発言の何が変かって「値段低くてクオリティ高いから買うべき」って言ってる事なんだよね。普段からちゃんと買ってる人だったらこんな批評はされてなかったと思うんだけどさ。
ユーザーとしては安価で発売してくれること自体はすごくありがたい事ではあるんだが、いわゆる「技術の安売り」になるんだよね。値切り文句にされちゃうんよ。「でも~~~はもっと安かった」って。
