I love Dark Souls 3.

Not as much as Bloodborne, not as much as Dark Souls 1, but Lothric’s oppressive atmosphere, skulking enemies, and sheer refinement of the Souls formula makes for satisfying, and expressive gameplay every time you boot it up. Its setting, and how it uses the world-building of previous games to strengthen its theme of cycles absolutely blew my mind, and I’m willing to bet I’m not alone.

So, with all this in mind… let’s put this opening to the test. Let’s force a noob, a non-gamer, namely my girlfriend, to sit down and try to tackle Dark Souls 3’s first section, to see if we can answer one question.
