Talking about my experiences with Skyrim, a hidden gem you’ve probably never heard of in an entirely necessary video that is in no way redundant or over a decade late.

Do you think es6 would be better with an entirely different style of combat? Like if there was a definitive 3rd person souls-like combat, but with all the flavor and rpg choices of elder scrolls
You should review Enderal, as a standalone game not quite a mod since it's an experience in it's own right
It was the janky third person support that made me stop playing. I need it done well because I get sim sick in first person. 🙁
Never played Skyrim gang?
Another thing is Skyrim should really penalize the player for dying. On PC, having the ability to quick save as much as possible and dying to only respawn back 30 secs in the past with no penalty gets underwhelming fast.
I can't wait until you re-release this video on other platforms for the next… forever!
I’ve still never played the thieves, guild or the dark brotherhood quests even after probably thousands of hours of play. I just never end up playing a bad character and the guild don’t make sense to do lol
It only took 14 years to 100% it, nice
Mort thank you for this very comprehensive review of ES 5 . I happen to be playing it atm…thoroughly enjoying it in spite of the various bugs etc. I think ES 6 will have some very big shoes to fill(from Es5) cuz I'm afraid they may end up as Starfield did….just a thought…
I love Skyrim. Skyrim brought me back into games. During the late 2000s I was taking a break from games but then Skyrim changed all that. Skyrim was the first game where I felt fully immersed in a game world. Skyrim was the first game I can say that I played for more than 150 hours. It wasn't just me, but my brothers, cousin and friends all got into it and all we did was talk about Skyrim. Skyrim felt like too good to be true; I had never played anything like it. Skyrim brings back some of my favorite gaming memories. Skyrim will forever be one of my top 3 favorite games of all time
The anxiety that Bethesda may never be able to recreate this success is real. They waited so long. And I won't be halfway through BG3 by the time they do release ES6 lol…
Wait, you mean he finished the main story? What a fuckn psycho
This might be the most underrated game of all time!
Thank you for showing us this niche game we would have never played or heared off.
One crazy thing about Skyrim is that Esbern is voiced by legendary actor Max von Sydow. For context, he got his acting start with the even more legendary filmmaker Ingmar Bergman, the archetypal European art-house director. Sydow starred in The Seventh Seal, a benchmark of cinema. His involvement in this was not a fall from grace; Sydow was just a very adventurous actor.
50:55 I really had to laugh hard when you hit her like that 😀
Skyrim? 100%? What is this sorcery?
Mort you are a legend!
Respect for finishing the game in the first place. I always start playing a character and start over again. I love the game and the setting, but somehow, I just can't come to the end. I bought the game a long time ago (2017.) and still didn't finish it.
P.S. Yes, 2017 was 8 years ago. I'm also depressed about that thought.
27:44 ambitious of you to assume people will be watching this video in 2080
I told myself I’d never play again after I platinum’s the game a few years back and now here I am playing till the sun comes up like when I played as a young lad.
Morti whst is this obscure gem thou hast unearthed?
700+ mods and thousands and thousands of hours. Skyrim still is the king.
One thing that sticks out for me from these games is the fact that you can pause during combat and eat 25 apples, 2 loaves of bread and six healing potions…. and be right back to 100% health. You can do this over and over and it just makes combat really dull. I've thrown out the suggestion that you should have to wear a "potion holster" (or something to that effect) where you can store up to 3 potions you can pause and drink during battle. Now, maybe it's 4 or 5 or 8 potions. But have some limit on the amount of stuff you can just pause and intake to restore health, magicka, and buff yourself.
Definitely gonna check this one out
I'm really very curious how you structure you day to fit so much gaming and content creation, with such consistency. I never 100%'ed any game, and with a normal 8h desk job, it can be quite hard to find motivation or excitement to play any game, let alone 100%. Even when I have days off, unless I'm playing many short session, I can't do more than 4-5h on a single game, especially if it demands my attention, like for a review. So, just built different, or are there some habits that you have incorporated over the years to make this type of commitment possible?
Wow. Is this where we wake up in a cart? I've seen the trailers but never knew it was ever released!
Imagine finish Skyrim.
Playing Skyrim without mods is like only playing COD singleplayer campaign. I get to review it you have to play it vanilla, but you should also do a heavily modded review just for comparison.
I play Skyrim on Switch and it is fab.
For real. ❤
None molded skyrim gameplay? Just in time, I needed some good sleep
Oh look. It's the game I have on my fridge
I think this guy and Sseth might be from the same atom cell.
To anyone trying to get back into it, get one month of nexus premium, and install Gate to Sovngarde. 1700 mods and it all works without a hitch. It feels like Skyrim 2 if it were ever a thing. Just did this 2 nights ago and already sunk 18 hrs into it
I think no game insults your intelligence quite as Skyrim does…. I'm sure there are other examples, but I remember playing it for the first time and thinking "wow this game really thinks you're stupid huh". Loved the music and the environments though.
