Ur lame breh
ds2 is great, I do hate that adaptability exists but i also love how experimental that game was. also I see a lot of ds2 in elven ring, especially with the way dual wielding works and it was great seeing twinblades again in Elden ring they were always so satisfying to use.
My first time i left it before the first boss saying that the game was shit, but i gave him a second opportunity with a open mind and finished it, its a great game and i would say that its less boring than ds3 at least in a early game
To be completly honest:
I am playing through Ds2 right now.
I started with Eldenring -> DsR -> Ds2 hated it and stoped at Drangleic Castle -> Ds3 and after replaying Ds1 over and over again, i gave Ds2 another Chance. And strangly enough, till now i love it.
After confrontating the problems:
-Controller fixing
-Adaptability leveling
-Dealing with "interessting" aggro-patterns of enemys (that was the reasion i stopped the first time … really frustrating for first playthrough)
-cluncky vibe to my movement and enemys
I have to admit, there are many things to adore:
– Cool NPC Questlines (e.g. Darkness)
– You can use Infusionsin a proper way (Poison, Fire, Lightning, … )and see a difference in PvE (in Ds1 Poison is nearly useless vs NonPlayers
-A lot of unique, cool and interesting areas to explore (some even with little Twist you have to find out in order to progess <3)
– Many new mechanics (some better some worse), but e.g. i like the usage of the torch.
With that said, there are some pityfalls you have to avoid, to have fun in your first playthrough (in my opinion):
– do not use pharros-stones at the location "pharros doors"
-go through very slowly (you will pull all enemys in one level)
– (my tip) use a bow with poison arrows for frustrating sections
With that said, Ds2 is not the best Darksoulsgame for Sure, but its still pretty good. Have fun exploring the World of Ds2.
i hated how you can run past everything in elden ring. so i guess it really is a matter of which games you started out with. i like the more survival aspects of the first 2. ds 3 streamlined everything, then in ER, its sooo easy to run past everything. thats why you see so many bad players beat the game without learning fundamentals.
Once you learn and strategize each area the game becomes pretty easy. One thing that is very old-school rpg about it, is the need to clear the zones by grinding. Then the mobs stop spawning and easy run to boss room as a reward… Honestly the mobs not spawning after a dozen deaths and the bonfire aesthetics are some of the best souls mechanics ever
Dark Souls 2 is a unique souls experience and although it isn’t the best game in the soulsborne series it’s still a great experience even if you just play it through once.
I really enjoy DS2 especially Scholar. Just hits different.
I don't have a clear reason why I like it so much, it's not even my first Souls, but I still love it and it's my favorite. It just feels so right and fun to me
Ds2 is amazing to explore, the enemies and the amount of broken attack patterns/hit boxes make it a pain in the ass to play sometimes overall if you're a masochist who likes the souls have in general then you'll have a great time
DS2 stat system is why I like it (minus adaptability…). It's similar to elden ring in that you can push stats to the extreme but even more so than ER. You can be 99% immune to all elemental damage or lower physical damage taken by 90% with like 3400 hp. Can specialise in very specific playstyles like shieldpoke, helix halberd counters, shields as weapons, real poison, weapons that can cast spells etc.
Ds2 had bad water lol I hate those toads and hammer healers
I like dark souls 2. I don’t like Scholar Of The First Sin.
I fucking hate the green cave that spits poison everywhere
This might be a hot take but i dont like ds2 and elden ring
Forcing a deep voice is sooo cringe
It’s the worse souls game yet better than most other games. That’s all
Its too challenging for some
The people that hate DS2 are sheep and beta cucks who cant let go of DS1 nothing more , the game is good and majula is literally the best hub in a video game to date much less a souls game .
Ds2 is a game that people play as a boss rush despite its main focus being the areas.
And people expect enemies to forget abt them after 500 meters then get mad at the "ganking" and they refuse to slow down and use a bow
It’s a great game but it has some issues
The reason I like Dark Souls 2 is because it's the most flexible and honestly enjoyable of the entire franchise. When I played Elden ring I think I enjoyed about 50% of my playthrough of it and the rest of it was stressful. Elden ring is a fantastic game but in my opinion goes way too hard on being difficult for the sake of being difficult. I 100% Elden ring and about 65% completed the DLC and haven't touched it since 2024.
Bloodborne perfected the difficulty I'll also allowing the player a little bit of freedom in how they approached the combat while also having possibly the best endgame out of all of the souls games.
However I have played Dark Souls 2 to completion 27 times and every time I play differently or try different routes with different armor sets or weapons. I've even completed Dark Souls 2 with nothing but the ladle and while it was a nightmare to complete even that felt possible to do. Wouldn't advise it but it is possible to do.
There are a few reasons why Dark Souls 2 is so fun- number one it was the final game in the franchise that allowed you to upgrade armor and weapons meaning that any armor or weapon could be viable for the majority of the game. Dark Souls 2 has the most RPG systems out of all of the from soft lineup and with that comes a wide variety of different play styles and approaches to the systems it has. It also is the most accessible for a wide range of reasons, it being the easiest out of the lineup after you put some time into learning its mechanics who is the most flexible build variety where every build feels relatively useful with very little builds feeling like they're completely worthless like they might feel in other Souls. And while Elden ring is way too massive in my opinion, you can fully complete the ridiculous amount of content in Dark Souls 2 within about 65 hours casually and about 250 hours if you're going for 100%. And finally Dark Souls 2 has the most unique New Game Plus out of any of the games. There is so much to see and do in Dark Souls 2 and it understands it needs to be both punishing and a video game at the same time. As I've said before it's not everyone's cup of tea but it is still worth playing if you can get into it. Not to mention it has so much armor and weapon variety it is actually ridiculous😅
I don't like DS2 not because other people don't
I don't like DS2 because everytime I tried playing it was a miserable experience for me
