Sony’s PC release strategy has been heavily led by Insomniac and Nixxes, with Spider-Man 2 being Sony’s quickest PlayStation to PC release yet. Has that rapid pace impacted the quality of the port? We test a range of PC hardware against the PS5 Pro to see how much higher the game can scale, how it runs, and if this is the premium way to play this superhero adventure. Graphics, performance, patche,s and spider webs are all covered in our IGN Spiderman 2 PC performance review.

  1. So I had the opportunity to get a PS5 Pro. One thing I think that’s hard to display is the smooth fidelity of the games while your actually playing vs watching a gameplay video.

I think the TV you play on also makes a huge difference. Between the base model and the Pro I can definitely see and “feel” a difference on the Pro. This reminds me of the same issue when trying to show case VR in video vs actually playing a game in VR.

The base PS5 is still great but I’d be a liar if I said there’s no noticeable difference compared to the Pro. Overall it honestly a better experience.

  2. As a gamer give yourself options if you can, for $699 that game performs marvelously on the little console especially with an Upscaler like PSSR. Most gamers 90% or more don’t have a 7900XT, 4080,4090, 5080 or 5090 and even with those cards there is still pc port issues. I have a MSI 4080super for 1440p gaming I still rather play it on my PS5pro without a microscope or benchmark tool you can’t even tell the difference outside a visual eye candy.

  3. Amazing timing: I am literally now installing Spider-Man 2 on my new PlayStation 5 Pro time the game for the first time! Hyped for Pro Fidelity RT Enabled Mode Uncapped VRR!

  4. pc port is still really bad til future updates, should have waited a bit before comparing, its gonna make playstation look better when in reality its not

  5. I rather have a ps5 pro that can optimized this game rather than pc that have to wait patch note one by one.I mean i rather play it smoothly on day one when i bought it using my money

  6. Does it really matter if we are all using a high performance PC or PS5
I'm just here for the gameplay 🤷🏾‍♂️

  7. I just want a reason to play it again, I completed it in 7 hours and I haven't gone back since.
Was hoping some dlc would drop but nothing but silence

  8. Everyone should stop wasting money on pc components instead of that buy a ps5 pro….much better option…even the RTX 5090 struggling to keep 60fps. PC games are nowadays nothing but just waste of money and even the pc components also…PC is superior than any console in terms of graphics I know but in terms of stability it's a trash…..Better to buy a console….useless game useless optimization useless costly pc components..FFFFFF👿👿👿👿

  9. just finished on 6600xt and worked perfectly people nowadays just need a reason to whine and brag bout their new 5090s and their never ending fantasy of unlimited Fps

  10. Lazy port, Sony intentionally limits their games on PC. I dont no why PC gamers support this nonsense!

  11. It’s a pretty game, but none of the games on ps5 and Xbox series x look “next gen”. I am so disappointed that Sony still supports the aging ps4. And it’s because of those users we have ps4 quality graphics on ps5! So f u!!

  12. Just remember the true reason why I didn’t get a PS5 Pro just yet was because it lacked a disc reader. Now that I got a PS5 Slim w/ disc reader before it even released, I can transfer the disc reader to the Pro itself.

  13. The disputes the level of delusion
a lot of PC owners have. They always say “oh it’s way better on pc” no it ain’t let’s live in reality. And there’s no way spending 2k more on a PC is justified unless you have the money to spend.

  14. Great video! I really appreciate the content and the detailed breakdown. Spider-Man 2 on PC is visually stunning, offering a rich and immersive experience. However, I've encountered some issues like frame drops, sudden screen freezes, game crashes, and glitchy cutscenes that feel artificial. Despite these challenges, the game's beauty and engaging gameplay are undeniable. 15. Wild how an equivalent pc to the ps5 pro with an rx6800 and zen 2 cpu is getting absolutely blasted by the pro 🤣🤣🤣

  16. I'm probably in the minority here, but I don't mind them not making DLC for this game. When did releasing games come with the automated expectancy of DLC accompanied by it?
I'd rather they get started on Spider-Man 3 as soon as possible. With all the open endings of the different storylines of SM2, it just means SM3 will be all that bigger. Let's not forget that Insomniac are still working on Wolverine that takes up time as well.
I really don't mind any DLC.

  17. I'm playing it now on rx 6700 xt, i5 12400f and 32gb ram On max settings, 2K, and FSR 3.1.0 quality and make frame generator off without ray tracing i Get 50 to 60 frames without any problems. Also, set the paging file size to 32GB in Windows settings. Make sure that the game and Windows system work on the SSD drive.

  18. If the port is not ready why rush the game out on pc. Focus on optimisations before releasing the game. Rather wait 2 years for a good port than 1 year and bad port.
