Dark Souls is easily the best of the trilogy. DS2 is good, though marred by a lot of issues due to its difficult development, and DS3 is in my opinion very gameplay first – really fun to play, but in a lot of aspects it falls short of DS1 and in some cases DS2.
I think the way people vote always hinges on two things more than anything else. (1) What is their first souls game? (2) At what point in the series did they get into these games? If someone’s first souls game is elden ring, which is like 80% of the “souls community” now, they’re probably only going to enjoy the faster combat of Sekiro, ds3 and maybe Bloodborne if they can manage the 30fps. Meanwhile, if someone’s first souls game started with demons souls the speed of the combat won’t be as big of a deal to them and they most likely enjoyed the slower paced gameplay equally or sometimes more than the faster combat introduced to Bloodborne and carried through to Elden Ring. I like ds1 and ds3 equally but I play them both for very different reasons. To me ds1 definitely feels more immersive. The limited bonfires, more strategic enemy placements, connecting shortcuts and slower gameplay make me take my time with the game and it sort of makes me lock in when I’m just wandering around. In ds3 I definitely play the game more because of the combat and the bosses which makes the game less immersive but also makes my dopamine hits much higher than ds1 which is more of a slow burn than ds3 is.
I would say dark souls 2 I s my favourite, not because of the bosses but because of the areas, there all so different and it looks incredible.. except for iron keep I hate you…
I am currently playing dark souls 3, and I can say it's my favorite, but I still very much love dark souls 2, because of majula, but also because it's the part that introduced me to the soulsbornes.
4. Demon souls 3. Dark souls 3 2. Darksouls 1 1. Dark souls 2. Dont get the love towards Darksouls 3. The areas other then a few are really uncreative. Enemy design is boring asf. The story is plain and boring. And the worst of all why is darksouls 3 so short? Like half of the content is already horrible so why make it so short. Oh and the dlcs ringed city is a good one but ashes of ariandel? Their are two bosses in them and one of those bosses is an npc fight?
Nahhhu bro fuck the people that said the 3rd instead of the 1st 😭😭😭 The first game is unmatched in story, atmosphere, soundtracks, dlc, map, an NF pretty much everything but PVP
Demon's souls is actually too bad that if it wasnt for ds1 coming out, fromsoft would probably never be a name we hear in almost every gaming article. Dark Souls 1 as i said was the saving goal for Fromsoft, being an absolutely amazing rpg and causing a whole new genre. Dark Souls 2 is actually underrated, it has a LARGE pool of weapons and a LOT of bosses as I remember, yet those amazing amounts have less effort put into them, learning from that Fromsoft chose to put more effort into less content which led into DS3. Dark Souls 3 was an amazing game, really well made and even could be chosen as the Game Of The Year or the best game of the series. It also led into what I think can be the greatest game ever made, Elden Ring.
There's people that don't like dark sousl 2, and that's valid. But hate is such a strong word, to me it comes from bitterness. Couldn't beat the game, or more likely, never played and jumped on the hate bandwagon vus they saw everyone saying it's the worst game ever made don't play it
Its not that they arnt good enough to beat DS2, its they aren't patient enough. Not everyone likes to take they're time killing most the enemies, elden ring and DS3 made running pass everything more of a trend and which DS2 absolutely punishes you for trying this unless you know the area already
Dark Souls 3 makes it perfect – No poise – Enemies large for no reason (BloodBorne style) – Ringed City ending described (Yeah, and?) – Too fast – Most casual part
Dark souls 2 gets under appreciated like crazy, if DS2 was the first and only game FromSoft put out, I guarantee you it would be revered as this cult classic, but because 1 and 3 were absolutely amazing, the less amazing one gets dumped on more than it should. DS2 was my first DS game, bought it at a GameStop when it was on PS3, one of my top 10’s games ever
Ds3 is only appreciated that much because of the bosses still one of the best fromsoft games but apart from irythil all the areas are either reused or just so fucking annoying to go through
After playing ds1 I have to say it's definitely not a bad game, I really loved, it's a good game. But I just can't see why people hype it up so much so often. It's their opinion to like it though I can't see why it's so many people's favourite

Demon Souls needs a PS4 remake
Sekiro all day
Des: torture
Ds1: torture + fun
Ds2: torture + fun + bad mechanics
Ds3: fun

Ds3 is for casuals lol
man i just dont really see what they see on ds1
Your interpretation of DS2 is SPOT ON! DS2 is not for the weak.
DS3 is garbage compared to the others.
DS1 is King
I have 100% achievement on both vanilla DS2 and SOTFS and I still hate it.

I think Dark Souls 2 is immaculate

Dark Souls 2 : they hate what they cant Beat so they are Amateurs
Dark souls 2 is definitely the worst but if you accept that and just enjoy it for what it is it’s still the same dark souls experience.
Bloodborne vs ds3?
Elden Ring and blood blood-borne still kind of count as dark souls games I would still count them, but they’re not named dark souls
Dark Souls 2 is just average, copy paste bosses, wooden mechanics and annoying locations
There's people that don't like dark sousl 2, and that's valid. But hate is such a strong word, to me it comes from bitterness. Couldn't beat the game, or more likely, never played and jumped on the hate bandwagon vus they saw everyone saying it's the worst game ever made don't play it
A bloodborne fan is definitely going to be upset you forgot bloodborne how dare you
I dont think dark souls 3 combined best aspects of every game bcs locations are really straightforward exactly opposite to ds1 or ds2
DS2 Rapier with lightning infusion is ez mode
Ds 1 is my home
nice dark and darker music

"All of the bosses are super memorable" is the biggest bullshit I've heard in a while
