Direct visual and feature comparison of the upcoming “The Last of Us Part 1” [PS5] and the previous version of the game, “The last of Us Remastered” [PS4].
This video covers a ton of content for The Last of Us Part 1 – all spoiler free, including various gameplay features, UI elements, and other aspects of the game that have been modified.
Both games are being played on a PS5 using the fidelity presets. For gameplay sequences – TLOU Part 1 is being played in its performance mode (60fps 1440p).

I like the graphics on the PS3 original and the PS4 remastered version better than the PS5 remake.

The Remake nobody asked for but got anyway
As someone who played through the PS3 original and PS4 remaster more than a dozen times, there was no way I was going to shell out $70 for it. FINALLY it came down and I picked up Part 1 for the PS5 for $29 and I can't wait to revisit it again! I haven't read anything about Left Behind though. Can anyone tell me if it's included in this version?
The less worn clothing and the straight up gentrified HUD are my main complaints. It's always a problem with remakes completely stripping any UI elements of their former personality- I liked the worn and rugged looking UI of the original compared to the bland and sterile UI of the remake.
The remake is so realistic that it took in to account the age of Joel and Tess and aged them by 10 years. Amazing attention to detail.
I do like most the changes but I honestly like the remastered character models more than the remakes especially with Ellie and Tess’s models

Great video! The only thing I miss in the ps5 version is the clicking sound when turning Joel’s flashlight on/off 😢 I don’t know why but I loved that sound , I know I’m sad lol
Am I the only one who thinks the color is better in the remastered version? It’s like they washed out all the color in the new version!
It's an amazing game, whichever version you have at hand. I'm happy to have Part One on PS5. Great stuff.
one thing about part i one is that everything is also slightly cleaner, meaning that the environment doesn't always feel exactl4ey like its been abandoned for 20 years

the sensations with the assault rifle are different. in the remaster the rate of fire is slower and you feel every shot. In part 1 the rate of fire is very high and there is a massive recoil.

You're right, the remake did have puppy dog eyes, but her part I model has giant bug freak eyes when you stare too damn close to them.
If you take a very close look to them and you know, pause for a moment.
Her pupils look enlarged and drugged and the iris of her eyes are ENLARGED.
meanwhile the remake didn't have that focus but at the very least it made it clear that IT NEVER MATTERED.

Naah, this is like making a game all from scratch again. Totally worth it. Part 1 has to be one of the most realistic games I’ve played yet
I played both games on launch and the remake is waaay better than the original and remaster version. I was completely blown away by the remake, especially how real Ellie looked.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s when everytime there's a new graphics card standard things got exciting. From CGA to EGA to VGA to 16-bit color to 24-bit color to the dawn of 3D accelerators to DirectX 7 to DirectX 8 and so on. In those days graphics improved in leaps and bounds. These days, not so much. Sure there may be some improvements but honestly, you need to put them side-by-side to even really care.
