I have been in a residential building for students, it was not directly on a big campus like in America cause I’m French but it was next a « litterature uni »and « social uni » separately in the neighborhood. We rent a little appartment of one room (studio) and in each we had a bathroom (coming with a bathtub !) and a little kitchen space (« kitchenette »). The only community space we had was the shared laundromat on the first floor. I was happy to have my own personal space. 😊
the category of satch's fit was hetero realness
You can fix the camera bobbing thing by changing the camera.ini file to 'ignorelotlevel: true' (there are 3 instances of it in the file)
satch this video is screaming adhd my friend😂😂 i was losing track of what you was saying alot😭
8:50 and then theres a loading screen to "walk" over to the cafeteria 😂😂😂😂like whatt💀
I cannot fathom why they won't let us have kitchens. Every single college I'm looking into has some kind of kitchen with a stove and oven in the dorms, at least for upperclassmen. JUST LET US BAKE LATE-NIGHT FUNFETTI COOKIES GOD DAMN
One thing that drives me crazy about lovestruck is that discover university has a feature where you can set a dorm to be male/female only, so why couldn't they utilize that in the lovestruck dating app?
Nothing that can catch fire is allowed in dorms. Can you imagine if a dumb kid started a fire? How many people would be affected? I lost my home because a fire started in the apartment next to mine 12 years ago. I'm still working through it.
Wtf lol 🤣 my ex also tried to slide back into me this morning 😂😂😂😂
Hi, Satch. Allow me to clarify the kitchen in the dorm situation.
You see, American kids are not very bright. They do stupid shit. Especially the younger generation coming into college.
So Universities often place restrictions on the type of alliances you are allowed to have in a college dorm (that's being paid for by the college. If you live off campus you can do whatever tf you want). Often times those restrictions mean no ovens, stoves, or anything with an open flame. So you're pretty much left with microwaves, air fryers (sometimes), and coffee pots. You can also probably get away with an electric hot plate, but those can have restrictions as well in terms of wattage and shit.
If you want to cook food, you have to use a communal kitchen that's usually only on like the first floor. And the WHOLE building uses it. And those "kitchen" suck ass.
I love this build so much that I'm going to make a sim just to use it. Thanks Satch, love your videos.
“Well….back into me” 💀💀😅 I choked on my coffee.
Very nice Jail cell! School = indoctrination. Interior rooms without a window makes me sad. This turned out nice/realistic. Thanks Satch!!
Glad I lived at home during university in the US because the dorms here sound like my personal hell
6:08 satch describes ADHD
I appreciate the fact that you find your ex'es miss depth and then you go telling the world you just want white bread with butter because mayonnaise is too spicy 🔥 👏 With love, I always enjoy your videos, your commentary and your personality ❤️
could definitely use the extra empty room upstairs for storing old/broken furniture from debug or something along those lines with a fake doorway so it's like where the university keeps spare crap for the dorms
not the ex messaging 3 mins in I'm dead lmao
8:45 Every school I toured had in dorm kitchens. It’s not like it’s a new thing either, my sister’s school even had a mini kitchen IN HER ROOM for her and one other person back in 2006, so I was pretty irritated when I learned I couldn’t even put one in the common area of the building 💀😅
I can’t find your vlog channel and i really want to watch the STORYTIME LOL
None of the dorms on my campus (Texas) had kitchens. Hot plates, portable stoves or electric skillets were contraband. I think it's due to insurance reasons. But I had a mini fridge and microwave. This is fairly typical of American dorms. Often, campuses have apartments, which had kitchens, as an option as well.
I have the doors glitch too with the glass dissapearing in the outside
1:30 girl said ABSOLUTELY NOT to douching in the public bathroom 😭
8:00 Not sure about other places, but where I live that would be an office building not a dorm. I think its all the full size windows being in the actual bedrooms, we wouldn't do that for bedrooms here. For all the common rooms but not bedrooms.
I say that, but I love the actual build, and love the interior.
Personally, I thought they did a good job with dorms in Sims 2 and 3. Tiny bedrooms with study areas, computer rooms, small living areas, actual kitchens, lots of activities.
While I personally love jewel tones, I love the way you style neutrals in this build (kitchen, communal area) it looks warm.
One sentence you explain how hard gameplay already is for university and then you add laundry to make it even harder
Sims 4 University gameplay without mods is giving me flashbacks to the time when I studied technical physics in uni. I understand the constant tense moodlet, it left only when I dropped out 😂
“I just dont like flavor”
You’re British, its genetic
He got a text from the ex and decided to go to the gym😭
I used to try and complete one room at at time, and spend so much time cluttering. Now I just do base furniture and layout, then decorate, and find it less overwhelming.
ı don't fucking care about the build I'm here for the jokes. LOVEEEEE THE ENERGY. I laughed all the way through the video!!!!!!!!!
What about study room? PCs? Anything to raise logic skill would be also lovely
Day 20 of commenting on every of your vids 😀
Nice 👏
It's actually pretty standard in US dorms that you can't have a kitchen (air fryers, toaster ovens, etc). Only microwaves usually. They claim it's a fire hazard. But yeah, we have to spend money on food at the commons cafeteria usually.
Satch, the great defender of mayo being spicy 😆
i had a microwave and a fridge at university. so your food needed to be something you could make without heat. i had a lot of salads . my dorm had a little living room and a huge bathroom with a walk in shower because i'm disabled. the bedroom was separate and there was a loft bed that was brought down to where i could get in it. there was also a desk. it was a really awesome dorm actually
If they allowed kitchens, sims would constantly be cooking and setting the place on fire because their base coding is shit and they never bothered to fix it.
This looks absolutely nothing like a uni dorm especially in the UK 🤣
American students are allowed to take out 100k in student debt but aren't allowed a kitchen in dorm buildings cuz that would be dangerous 🙃 Also, that way the university can upset them on meal plans…
I had a mod to let me have a kitchen in all the "locked" builds
Hey Satchy this building looks like a old office conv'er to appartmenmts luv your builds
Mayonnaise is too spicy for me 😂😂 I can’t
I remember you saying that you struggle with IBs, I am assuming that's why you needed the ensuite bathroom. In my case my periods are horrible and I wasn't about to crawl down the hall when I'm writhing in pain to take care of that. My uni was nice enough to consider it a disability bc of my doctor's note so the price came down a bit.
Satch, I just moved into a uni dorm so the timing of this vid is perfect. I'm away from my family and friends for the first time – I feel like shite and am terribly lonely but your videos have always been a comfort to me 😂 Binging your vids last night helped me sleep, and made me feel less lonely. Thank you!
The reason you can't put things on those shelves, similar to the cubby from the new gamer kit, is because they're regular sized objects. Only "tiny" objects fit in those sections. This is the case for a majority of the shelving in the game, where you can put some normal sized objects on them and some spaces are reserved for tiny objects. The shelves, for instance, largely and almost entirely, if not entirely, only allow tiny objects. You can't really tell what can go where until you've attempted to put objects in those spaces, so until you're used to the shelving and know what can go where, it's kinda just a guessing game. Is it weird? Yeah. But that's just how it works lol (you also have to guess which objects are small enough to use those areas of the shelving, etc. Basically, anything that will fit on, say, the back of a toilet is considered a tiny object. it's annoying that there are no markers for what objects are what size and what shelving they fit, but that's how it works).
5:03 ok but this is wild 😭
I still don't understand why we didn't get pool tables
Yes! Plain food is the best!!! I'm 100% the same. Bread #1 😄Also, I can guess why we're not allowed to have dorm kitchens. It's because our roommates would start fires every 5 seconds and EA knows it. Instead of fixing the problem, they just ban it. Then again, in the Sims 3, we did have kitchens in university housing and I had a roommate starve to death, so there's that.
