I must say, both did really good job on the weapons! Sure Waw’s is more iconic, but WW2 made it a lot more satisfying! And one accuracy that’s important is that soldiers were trained to use pistols with only one hand instead of two during the war. So that’s a good eye on small details!
So from what I've seen: WAW: M1 Carbine ejects bottlenecked cartridges (should be straightwalled) Thompson: mag release not used for reloading Rear sights on M1 Carbine and M1 Carbine too big (for ease of use in a video game, most do so) M1911 shot with both hands (official training video states pistol should be shot with one hand when standing and two hands for everything else) Belt drum on MG42 should hold 50 rounds instead of 125 (fixed that for multiplayer)
WW2: Reloads seem too modern and tactical (i.e. throwing mags away) PPSH-41 sounds too slow, missing front sight protector, sounds off, magwell seems to be incorrect Thompson reload doesn't use mag release MG42 sounds way too slow and off MP40 fires too fast M1 Carbine has a wrong front sight protector 1903 Springfields can't be reloaded with stripper clips when equipped with a scope because the scope blocks the ejection / loading port K98k would usually have a front sight protector (which can be removed to adjust for windage)

Thompson: mag release not used for reloading
Rear sights on M1 Carbine and M1 Carbine too big (for ease of use in a video game, most do so)

Thompson reload doesn't use mag release
MG42 sounds way too slow and off
MP40 fires too fast
M1 Carbine has a wrong front sight protector
1903 Springfields can't be reloaded with stripper clips when equipped with a scope because the scope blocks the ejection / loading port
K98k would usually have a front sight protector (which can be removed to adjust for windage)
In conclusion somehow a 20 year old game got better sound effects and more historically correct guns than the most recent WW2 COD game
