Man, the pain is real and I can feel it, all the way here in Ireland. This is a very different game altogether. Mechanics are way different than DS3 or Elden Ring so you need to adapt. Take your time and pay attention to the enemies moves and combos. You got this, just like you did with other games.
small tips: 1. upgrade your estus flasks with the firelink fire keeper 2. only level the things you want. 3. being human helps with summoning(kindling gave you 10) 4. cut tails of bosses to get loot 5. try to lure out enemies 6 .upgrading your weapon directly helps your damage 7. kill the mini and small bosses or you might be under-leveled or miss loot 8. please look up the Hellkite Drake bride tutorial
I started DS3 recently, and I only got the first boss but I've complete DS1 a couple of times, as a player which has no skill whatsoever, I can't advice you but I can suggest: Go slow, clean your path so you're less stressed, plus a couple of nuisances don't respawn, plus you'll get some souls to level, plus you get used to how the game works, plus you get materials for upgrading your weapon, and maybe you need some gear?
There are a lot of great weapons which allow different kind of gameplay but I needed something to smash my foes, and counteract my deficiencies, I present you Zweihander! Very slow, and heavy but with a lot of reach, damage, and stagger potential, coupled with the Grass Crest Shield, it's amazing once you know how to use it properly. I only changed it to defeat the two last bosses in Oolacile Very fun video, by the way, it reminded me of myself trying to kill the Asylum Demon 😀
if you're going to be blocking as much as you are in this game, id really suggest you use a 100% physical shield. The undead merchant sells one. You may have picked up the knight shield as well, as it's a pickup on your way through undead burg. It's also 100% physical. I know it's not great content or whatever, but the best piece of advice I can give you is slow down and be tactical. Creep into areas and scope them out, kite when you can, and use appropriate weapons for appropriate scenarios. IE if you have 5 hollows coming at you, a spear isn't going to cut it, you're going to want something with a horizontal swing. A spear works great in a corridor, though, where a sword is going to constantly bounce off the walls. That sort of thing. It's that kind of game…at least until you're super comfortable with it.
My man's Elden running past 100 mobs, and getting frustrated when the horde at his heels deletes him the second something blocks his path. I really feel for ER players trying to get into this game. They play soooooo differently.
Dude you didn't even kill the sorcerer please "play" the game don't do it like it's a boss rush. The sorcerer can buff enemies but when you killed him he won't respawn and then all these enemies turn into some jokes also you should think and make build for bosses you can't just go forward. Spear was not a good pick because this boss need dps to kill one of them fast enough to control other one. I told you in last vidoe DS1 needs tactics and thinking and exploration not just skill for rolling I understand this game is not for everyone forexample I was a rpg player and I could understand it very soon but I didn't have enough skill but you have much more skill than me when I played it first but you are action game type gamers and can't enjoy rpg games like how i didn't enjoy DS3 at first because it was not fun for me (now i like it)
that comment about ds2, i don't want to downplay it because i enjoyed it as much as this game but see those million mobs on the 2nd floor? imagine if the whole game is that 2nd flr that's ds2. 😂
Might I suggest a different way of playing? What works for me (not an expert, but I did get platinum trophy) is to take it slow & deliberate: look ahead, take enemies out one at a time, don't rush ahead. For bosses, level up yourself and equipment (grind for some souls) and manage your stamina. Better to use the remaining stamina to roll out of harm's way, than it is to mash the attack button and get killed.

no. 1 advice my dude don't rely too much on the lock-on in this game a lot of times it's better to not use it at all.
