With a win today, the Royals would take the series win against Tampa Bay and extend their win streak to eight games; something they haven’t done since 2017. The Boys in Blue were ready for a battle. For the second straight game, Nelson Velázquez sent a ball deep to get the scoring started. Bobby Witt Jr. hit an RBI single in the third, scoring Hunter Renfroe. Salvador Perez showed off his cannon by throwing out Jose Siri at second base. Chris Stratton showed some swag of his own by snagging a ball behind his bag to make the out at first base. Adam Frazier went 3/5 on the day and scored the go-ahead run in the 7th off Dairon Blanoc’s sac fly. The Royals and Rays kept it close through nine innings, needing extras to determine the victor. In the 10th inning, with Renfroe starting on second base, Vinnie Pasquantino hit a sac fly to bring him home and give the Royals the 4-3 lead. The Rays tied it once again in the bottom of the 10th. Then, the Royals’ offense found a big spark on the 11th! Freddy Fermin pinch-ran for Perez at second base and scored immediately off a Velázquez RBI double. Frazier hit an RBI single right after bringing Velázquez home and extending the Royals lead to 6-4. After two outs, Maikel Garcia stepped up to the plate and singled to left field to bring Frazier home and give the Royals all the runs they needed. The Boys in Blue won 7-4 in 11 innings and extended their win streak to eight games, giving them a record of 34-19 on the season.

  1. Wow! What a grind it out kind of game against the Rays. I'm really loving the way we are battling this year. 8 straight! Great job Royals. Keep playing hard!

  2. Arguably the Royals have the best 2 hitters and 2 pitchers in Baseball!!!

  3. I was horrified seeing that happen to Isbel. My family and I prayed for him immediately – hoping for the best outcome possible for that man. That looked rough.

  4. The Royals have the fourth best winning percentage in MLB, and it's almost June. I understand it could all go South, but wow. Somebody pinch me. Go, Royals!

  5. Man those QT logos are horrendous looking. Probably the worst possible logo to have lol
