Interesting how 10 years before, former members of both the Mets AND the Red Sox join forces on the same team, the Yankees to win the World Series.
The ghost of 1996 has been exorcised. Nothing more than a bad faded memory.
I'm a Braves fan going back to 1991 I've seen a lot of upsets, not just in baseball but in every sport, and I'll tell u this, one can argue that this might be one of the biggest upsets of all tine, especially after the Braves won the first 2 at Yankee Stadium, going back to the ATL up 2-0 only to win 4 straight and beating the defending champions to take the crown? Pretty remarkable
새로운 양키제국의 탄생을 알리는 순간
삼성 라이온즈도 다시 저렇게 될 수 있다면 좋겠다.
Never get tired of watching this.
A long championship drought finally buried.
America
Team of DestiNY
For all those new age, anti-umpire, instant replay review technology enthusiasts out there; this World Series would have ended on an obstruction call the pitch prior when Hayes collided with a Braves player on the top step of their dugout, possibly preventing him from catching the first foul pop up. That would have sucked if it ended like that
Only wish 23 was part of this. Still hurts. Everyone forgot about the dark ages.
My buddy and I were 17 and we waited 7 hours on line prior to the start of the Series to buy tickets and were one of the last ones to make it before they closed it down at 5AM. We ended up asking for Game 6 tickets (section 35: the last one in right field and the last seats in one of the highest rows) and didn't think there would even be one – let alone be the clinching game – considering we lost the first 2 at home. When Game 5 was won in Atlanta we realized we had the most valuable sporting event tickets in NYC history but no amount of money would persuade us to give them up (my father begged me as we would have gotten a few thousand for them). The memory of the Yanks winning is still fresh in my mind and is worth FAR more than the money! I remember tears coming down the faces of many of the older guys sitting close to me, it was an unforgettable experience.
Lol, the ID4 music playing
Wow. Cheers.
I’m so jealous of my parents because they got to live through this
Legends
What a moment! It’s so funny how he almost tripped!
Man…that made my day a whole lot better! LGY!
What music plays when they win???
I remember this series we were down 0-2 and the yanks just stormed back and layed the smackdown on those braves. Gut wrenching world series. I was 10 years old at the time and NY went crazy. And thus began the yankee dynasty where they just would DOMINATE major league baseball. Man those Yankees were too good ! I miss em ! ❤ great geat baseball ⚾️
The Yankees not only won the world series they also whooped the aliens buts independence day style, hence the song in the stadium being played.
Background music is Independence day ost!
This is my Favorite Yankees World Series Win. I almost went to the game.. I REALLY wish I had. Only World Series I cried more was 2016 When The Cubs won. That was just HISTORIC. I LOVE Baseball. I REALLY love The Yankees. Greatest Team EVER!!!
Well done Yankee's
Incredible
It’s October 26, 1996
We’re at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, NY
It’s Game 6 of the World Series
The defending champion Atlanta Braves are trailing the Yankees by 1 with runners at 1st & 2nd and are down to their final strike
How did we get here?
Let’s rewind…
Night I met the boss George Steinbrenner
The ball boy joining in on the dog pile is wholesome AF
Yanks heading in the wrong direction. You can't buy chemistry
i’m not even a yankees fan but this gave me chills.
We still need to see these kinds of Moments again. Ya kees Stadium us the championship 🏆 castle.
I’m not a Yankees fan. But damn that year you couldn’t help be happy for Joe Torre and this team.
THIS IS THE TIME IN TIME AMERICA WAS GREAT
Does anyone know what that song at 0:13 is being played when they won?
The Yankees' first WS title since 1978.
Don’t get too excited, Joe. There was such a bias against the Yankees at FOX.
Why are there no more dog piles anymore
I’ve seen the last 5, this is by far the most impressive. Down 2-0, had to go to Atlanta. Beat Glavine, comeback in game 4, Pettite out duels Smoltz, and we edge out Maddox at home. Absolutely crazy doesn’t get talked about enough
never seen a team celebrate with so much passion and im not even from new york
This was the last time anyone liked John Wetteland.
