私の記憶では、カンザスシティが優勝した時期の強打者だった。青木選手選手とともに、リーグ優勝、翌年チームはチャンピオンに輝いた。青木選手残念ながら、ながれ、流れて、ヒューストンでチャンピオンリングをゲット。あのバケツ事件のシリーズだった。彼はｍｌｂにいや気が(個人的推測ですが) 何も語らず、日本に帰国。(多分似たことは、どこでもやっていて、いくつもの球団を渡り歩いた青木先週には、選手が「勝ちたい」のでやっていたので、普通に思っていたのが、弱小チームだから、大物・名門球団の糾弾(きゅうだん)、にあったようだ。勿論、私の見方ですが、尚大谷選手もそんな状況を承知してたようで、日々配球をこまめに、変えてた記憶です。でも下位打線にも手を抜けない為、肘のケンが「プチーン(音がしたかは謎？)」きれたようです。もちろん、これも私の推測ですが。)尚、日本のファンは暖かった、ブーイングされず、活躍できたようだ。「野球って、そんなクリーンスポーツ？」とは、私は思っていなかったので、驚かったなかったです。歴史のある、英国発祥のゴルフは紳士のスポーツとしては、有名ですが。
