This deal is rich with potential. Hopefully the Yankee's pitching staff can make something out of him.
He was not a stud with the Marlins. The only positive is he is a left handed pitcher. Lefties are generally harder to hit than right handers but they still need to have proper velocity and movement on pitches.

The package the Yankees surrendered was quantity over quality. Three years of control for someone who is at worst back end with the capability to be more frontend with changes is a strong deal. Fans prospect hug. Nothing elite was surrendered.
Pretty sure Blake told Cashman I can make that better. His pitch arsenal is very similar to Rodon, the fastball reminds me of Rodon with the WSox and the slider reminds me of Rodon last year. If he can become the current Rodon with better velocity that could be very useful. The did not give up anything that was ever going to see the 26 man roster so I have no problem with this trade.
Hopeful that he can be a solid early season rotation piece. If he becomes a Cy Young contender I'll eat my bicycle.

1) I'm not feeling really good about this Trade because I don't like giving up Hitters For Pitching.
2) I was really looking forward to seeing Dillon Lewis & Brendan Jones hit the Ball and show off their Speed on the Bases.
3) Now the Yankees are really gonna need Spencer Jones to show what he can do because I thought he would be Traded & the Yankees would keep the Young Speedy Outfielders instead.
4) Why didn't Cashman just sign Lucas Giolito and keep the Young Outfielders?
5) I feel like the Marlins are going to have more Yankee Players on their team than the Yankees themselves. OMG😱 I could be wrong, and they also gave the Marlins 2 Infielders as well. This Trade could come back to BITE Brian Cashman I hope not. I'm just not feeling Happy about this Trade😢

I like the trade for Ryan Weathers. The Yanks should go to 6 man rotation these year. Fried, Schlitter, Warren pitch a lot of inning last year
and Gil, Weathers, and Yarbrough pitch every few inning. Then keep the 6 man rotation when Roden gets back and drop Yar to the pen.
Same goes when Cole gets back.
Hey Ryan. You mentioned incorporating pitches like the sinker Rodon and Fried use. Do you think it could be an issue when you have a lot of pitchers that throw similar pitch mixes? Opposing team is seeing the same type of pitching over the course of a series.
