The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the New York Yankees 9-4 at Yankee Stadium on September 28, 2024. Yasmani Grandal, Nick Gonzales, Billy Cook, Jared Triolo, and Nick Yorke all homered. In his MLB debut, Mike Burrows picked up the first win of his major league career. Paul Skenes struck out three in 2 innings pitched. Aroldis Chapman got his 14th save of the season.

Pirates start the season and end the season like this. Fun to watch. But August wasn't
we at least match last years record so i think we are making progress maybe by next year we can actually be be competitive i would be ok with an 81 81 record. you have to walk before you can run. burrows skenes jones we may actually have a pitching staff next year now if we can find some power i think we could even possibly get a wild card. let's all hope
