Series-Opening Shutout | Ragans Dominant vs. Twins.



The Royals sent Cole Ragans to the mound to open an important series vs. the Twins and the rotation ace delivered a dominant performance. Ragans struck out 7 over 6.0 scoreless innings, striking out his 200th batter of the season becoming just the 5th Royals pitcher to eclipse the number. The Royals offense backed Ragans up, striking first in the 3rd inning when Tommy Pham doubled home Kyle Isbel. Michael Massey would add on an inning later, blasting his 12th homer of the season into the Royals bullpen. Hunter Renfroe would reinforce the lead in the 5th inning with a two-run single, and Yuli Gurriel would add the final tally of the night with a sacrifice fly in the 8th. James McArthur, Sam Long, and John Schreiber each contributed perfect innings in relief of Ragans to give the Royals a 5-0 win in the series-opener.

    My hot take. With so much hype about a 3 peat for the Chiefs. I say the Royals and Chiefs are going to make their respective championship games. It’s going to be a great year for sports in Kansas City.

    I'm happy for the win, especially against the Twins. After they left Cleveland, it was like their entire offense went into a collective batting slump. It looks like their coming out of it. Go Royals 😊
