Brady Singer picked up right where his fellow rotation-mate Michael Wacha left off the night before, tossing 7.0 shutout innings against the White Sox and striking out 7. The Royals again jumped on the White Sox in the 1st inning, this time with a 3-run rally in the opening frame thanks to RBIs from Salvador Perez, Michael Massey, and Hunter Renfroe. Bobby Witt Jr. stayed white-hot, reaching base 3 times in 4 at-bats and driving in a run of his own in the 2nd. The score would remain 4-0 until the White Sox scratched a tally across in the 8th only for the Royals to answer back with two thanks to bases-loaded walks from Hunter Renfroe and Garrett Hampson which gave the Royals more than they’d need for a comfortable 6-1 win to secure the series and earn a chance for a sweep.
