Alec Marsh took the mound in Game 1 of the doubleheader vs. the Cardinals, working through a tough start to finish strong and record a quality start. Trailing 3-0 in the 5th, MJ Melendez and Garrett Hampson tied up the game with RBI doubles, setting the stage for Salvador Perez’s go-ahead home run in the 6th inning. The Royals would add on again in the 8th inning thanks to a sacrifice fly from Vinnie Pasquantino and another RBI knock from Salvy. Will Smith, Sam Long, and James McArthur would not give up the lead and would secure a win for the Royals in Game 1.

Let’s go
Those cards uniforms and caps look stupid. MLB needs to just stop.
Let’s go Royals!!!!!!! 🫶🏻
Good comeback. It's always interesting when we are playing the Cards. Big 5th inning.
The Cardinals are a very strong team.
I thought it would be good to get one win.
I'm very happy that we won two games in a row.
I hope the Boston series continues like this.
What the hell is "The Lou"? F@*king stupid.
The game wasn't in the Cards.
Royals needed wins and got them yesterday. Next is an important series against the Red Sox
Garcia 'drives' one to right fielder at the warning track….did anyone else see a popup that the 1st baseman prolly could have caught 100 ft behind first base?
I was there
