The Royals received 5.1 innings of 1-run pitching from Michael Wacha in the series-opener vs. the Guardians before handing the ball to Sam Long, who struck out 4 over an impressive 1.2 innings. Trailing by a run, Kyle Isbel and Maikel Garcia hit back-to-back triples to tie the game, and Vinnie Pasquantino would bring home Garcia with a sacrifice fly to give the Royals the lead. John Schreiber and James McArthur made quick work of the Guardians in the 8th and 9th inning to secure the win.

Lets go royals! 👑
Wacha didn't have his best performance but he kept it a 1 run game. Long really stepped when we needed him to. The offense did enough to win. Go Royals.
レッツゴーロイヤルズ!
1:30 "Bulls Eye" Acting like that pitch wasnt 5 inches off the plate
BIG BIG BIG ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😇😇😇😇😇 Time 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉……….KC Mo
The Guardians announcer saying “bullseye” at a ball off the plate ruled a strike 😂
That was a BS call for Loftin being called out. Sure he went out of the baseline but he had nowhere else to go since the 3rd baseman ( I’m not sure exactly who it was but I think it was Ramirez) was blocking the baseline, that’s interference.

Great throw by Renfroe, and great fielding by Witt!
