I was 11 years old been watching baseball for 3 years playing it for 2 .. experienced the phillies parade in 2008 was probably one of the best days of my life following season high expectations for us to repeat and the yankees tore us apart this series. Still heartbreaking until this day
And hopefully there last
AND LAST
I get emotional watching this
Hoping to see #28 before Aaron Judge retires. But it's been unpredictable lately. Nationals in 2019. Braves in 2021.
God Man We need another 1 💪
Cano's single highlight in the 2009 post-season was fielding that one groundball in Game 6 … and they sports media kept telling us he's a better player than Jeter based on WAR. Sorry, junk stats, I'll take Jeter every time.
False Prophets and Anti-Christs
US New Yorkers Smoke Phillys
We have to win again. It’s been so long.
Yankees bought this title.
They had a record off season spending on CC Sabathia, AJ Burnett, and Mark Teixeira.
i was at this game, great memories
When they won this I was in 2nd grade gosh I feel old.

I Watched all The Games can see more on TV then in the Stadium Some of My Greatest Years Also For sure and My Love of Baseball Started for Me at 6 Years old my Dad use to Teach Baseball to kids and he met some VIP As A child Also…Thanks for the Memories
Last greatest moment in Yankees history
2022 New York Yankees ⚾🥳
That Phillies team should've won another WS, they choked for another 2 or 3 years after as well.
Why isn’t this in HD?
Awesome that 09 WS got them back on track but bummer Moose Mussina got the Mattingly curse, the year after they retire, yanks win it all.
I remember this championship ahhh it felt so good to be on top of baseball again.
I was one of the few Yankees fans in my group to say "Yankees in 6" and everyone was like "What? You're not calling the sweep?" And all I said was, "They need to christen the new stadium with the title. Game 6 is the first chance to do that." Sure enough, Game 6, stadium christened.
27th Heaven!
I don't even like the Yankees; I just want them to get back in form as MLB's villain.
The Chase for 28 continues!!!
Looks like rematch coming in 2022
Watching this at 2022 is pure pain
being 7 years old watching this game with my mom. had to keep it quiet bc we had family sleeping in my house. will NEVER FORGET the tears of happiness. 09 is the greatest yankee team i’ve watched to date 🥲
I feel like it’s pretty cool to have a sports story. Any sport, any story — 2009 was a tough year for in my life as I was trying to come to terms and deal w the fact that my first bf did not love me we were on the rocks. Wasn’t going well for me in my friendships or at school — just a mess. But the 2009 World Series got me through all that. All I did that year was watch baseball — I studied it, I learned from it. I was inspired by this larger than life team that was known all over. The 2009 yankees were my box of tissues that wiped my tears. 27 time world champs. That year was heartbreakingly incredible. ❤️ I love my city, I love my team. ICONIC
I was born in ‘98, and have been born and raised a Yankee fan, so this is truly the only World Series I remember. My Yankee fandom has only grown over the years and I think it’s safe to say I’m ready for them to get 28. I’m a regular in the Bronx and let me say, it’s become my second home. Missing it a little extra right about now 😉
And it’s 2023,we’re still waiting for the next one
25 years old.. been a yankees fan all my life and have only gotten the opportunity to watch them win in 09. Been developing every std in the book the last 13 years waiting for another. Year 14 doesn’t look promising at all either so I should have full blown aids by September
We took this for granted. Been long and painful waiting to even have another shot at it lol
I remember watching this game with my mom , AND going to the parade with her to see the Yankees celebrate and Jay-Z perform Empire State of Mind at city hall
Great year for NYC baseball! The Yankees opened their new Yankee Stadium, then the Mets opened their new Citi Field, then the Yanks win the whole thing! I miss that season, even though I was a toddler.
My son was born 6 days after this. When they got that final out, my wife and I jumped out of our seats and yelled and she said we scared the baby because she felt him jump hard when we yelled. lol
I remember when New York Yankees win the 2009 World Series be world champion for 27 time They stopped the Philadelphia Phillies form repeating as world champion I kown that. Philadelphia Phillies was world champion in 2008
0:16 number 47 hurts his knee celebrating on the right side
Yankees need to win again i need this
Take me back man
27 titles? Yankees are 🐐 THE REAL DEAL! The godfather of all Majors League Teams.
Imagine 5 titles then 27?
Yankees the simply the 🎉only golden team! JordanOtani!!!
Shee bu mu di mua ay gi
I was 13 when this happened, I am now 27, I hope to see the Yankees win a World Series soon.
Just imagine Aaron Judge skipped to his favorite part seeing the number he’s wearing today number 99 being worn by Brian Bruney, he should discuss about him and why he’s honored to wear it after a pitcher who worn it before his career started
An excellent way to break in the new stadium
😊😊😊
And Brian Cashman has been in charge ever since.
Never thought they wouldnt be back to a single world series since this….
My bed time was 9pm at the time cuz I was 9 years old but I remember running around the house screaming when matsui launched one into the second deck
Back when baseball was Awesome
