About MLB.com:
Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball’s internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. 1. I didn't even know who either of these guys were until the video for the recent silly moment in the Nationals-Braves game, yet even I'm sitting here bawling my eyes out. What a moment.

And I'll echo the sentiments of everybody else, props to the announcers for saying literally nothing and props to Bartolo for his role, though that part is more to trusting what others are saying for it's veracity

  2. Everyone in the entire stadium stood and clapped. That’s why baseball is America’s favorite sport.

  3. Every baseball fan knew that Bartolo grooved that fastball for him. And that’s ok. Props to him for that. What a great move by him

  4. Love Bartolo for that pitch, but I still would’ve hit a grounder to the pitcher. Dee definitely earned that!

  5. Damn I just cried. Thanks pitcher for the meatball. Real sportsmanship right there !

  6. I came here after the Kick Return TD after what happened to Damar Hamlin.

  7. 115 lb of Dee Gordon crushing that ball into the stratosphere is absolute satisfaction.

  8. This is my favorite sports moment in my lifetime so far. Every once in a while when I’m down after a long day I’ll come watch this to remember there’s so much more important things than what happens in our daily lives. Everytime this moment never fails make me shed at least a few tears

  9. Shame the city of Miami couldn’t be bothered to attend this game. Florida doesn’t deserve a baseball team.

  10. It might be debated for a while whether or not Colon gave Gordon that pitch, but I think Bartolo not even turning to look at the ball is proof enough to me that he wanted a homer there.

  11. the sad home run I ever see, and one of the sad moments in the history of baseball and in sports in general. Even though it has already past some time it still hurts

  12. seeing him round third to reveal the 16 is genuinely so heartbreaking. every time i watch this video i get emotional.

  13. I cry because of how bad that pitch was… great moment but ruined by the disrespect to the game in that pitch

  14. This clip does not do this moment justice. You completely cut out the part where he uses Jose's helmet and stands on the opposite side of the plate and takes a pitch before this moment. Who do you have working for you that really determined that was irrelevant?

  15. Just coming back to this as Gunnar Henderson just did a similar thing for Brooks Robinson by also hitting a home run on the very first at bat after the news. The other very cool thing is that this also happened on September 26th. Rest in peace Jose and Brooks. You will both be remembered
