The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs 2-1 at PNC Park on Friday night. The two runs of the game came in the first inning for the Pirates. Andrew McCutchen grounded which brought Ke’Bryan Hayes home and an RBI single from Joshua Palacios scored Bryan Reynolds for the 2-0 lead. Mitch Keller threw eight shutout innings with six strikeouts, and David Bednar earned his 28th save of the season.

That was an amazing performance by Keller! I did want to see him go for the complete game, but 8 shutout innings is amazing! I thought that Bellinger was safe in the 9th – surprised to see that call overturned, but it was definitely needed 😬 #LetsGoBucs 🏴☠
