Notes from the Game:
– While Kyle Wright Struggled in this Outing, he IS Progressing on the Positive side. His Final Line: 5 2/3 Innings of 2-Run, 4-Hit Ball, Walking 4 and Striking Out 6 in a No Decision. His Command is still off, but give it a few starts and he should get back to 2022 Form. His ERA Stands at 6.23 Currently.
– Michael Tonkin though didn't look good. He gets his First Blown Save by allowing a Two-Run Home Run in the 7th, Finishing with 2 Runs on 3 Hits, Walking nobody and Striking Out 2. Hopefully this is just an Off-Outing.
+ Credit to Nick Anderson and A.J. Minter though for Shutting down the Royals over the Final Two Innings, Not allowing a Single Baserunner while recording One Strikeout Each. Anderson gets his First Win as a Brave in the Process!
ROTATION TOTAL: 9 Innings, 4 Runs, 7 Hits, 3 Walks, 10 Strikeouts, 1 Home Run Allowed.
The Braves' Offense, while not as Explosive as the first two games, Came through when it mattered!
+ Matt Olson got the Scoring Started with a Bang! His Only Hit of the Day was a 2-Run Triple that might've been an Inside-the-Parker had the Ball Rolled a Different Way. Olson holds onto a .313/.413/1.069 (AVG, OBP, OPS) Line through 16 Games this Season!
+ Austin Riley Contributed to the Early Start, Going 1-2 with a Single, RBI Sac Fly, and a Walk. Riley Stands in with a .322/.417/.925 Line through 16 Games this Year.
+ The Oz-Man Continues to Work his Magic! a 2-4 Day with a Solo Super Missile and a Double that led to him scoring the Go-Ahead Run in the 9th! Ozzie Climbs to a .262/.279/.694 Line with 3 Home Runs through 16 Games!
+ Vaughn Grissom was DECISIVE when it mattered, His Only Hit of the Day is a Go-Ahead RBI Single in the 9th! Grissom clings to a .308/.308/.693 Line through the First 3 Games of his 2023 Line!
+ OTHER NOTABLES: Ronald Acuna had a 2-4 Day, While Sam Hillard Walked and Scored in the 1st. Sean Murphy, Eddie Rosario, and Chadwick Tromp (Who was making his 2023 Debut) all had 0'fer Days, With the Catching Duo of Murphy and Tromp Striking Out 3 Times Each…. Ouch.
+ It was a Nail-Biter to the end, but the Braves Successfully Sweep the Road Series in KC! The Offense Willed it's way forward, the Pitching, while Sketchy, Delivered Late, and the Defense Didn't make any Critical Mistakes. A Win is a Win, and it certainly was one here.
– The Good: Miami's Ace got Outdueled by Arizona's Ace, And the Nationals had a Walk-Off Win Today (This is Good because I hate to see the Nationals simply sucking right now). The Bad: The Phillies Returned the Favor against Cincinnati Today, Beating the Piss Out of them for Saturday's "Transgression", and the Mets…. Well, that game in Oakland is Still Ongoing, but we'll assume they win unless they decide to have their First Episode of LOLMets…. This Means that Atlanta remains 2 Games Ahead of New York, while being 4 Ahead of Miami, 6 Ahead of Philly, and 7 Ahead of Washington.
What's Next?
The Royals will lick their wounds and remain at their Homefield of Kauffman Stadium to greet the Texas Rangers. Jacob deGrom will take the hill for Texas, Coming off a No-Decision in which he allowed 2 Runs on 7 Hits in 7 Innings to the Royals about 6 Days Ago, while Jordan Lyles will take the helm for the Royals, Looking to bounce back from an Outing against the Rangers in which he was tagged for 4 Runs on 8 Hits over 6 1/3 Innings in Arlington. Can the Royals Stop the Hemorrhaging and Get back on the Fray with the Help of Lyles? Or will deGrom and the Rangers Extend KC's Misery to 4 Straight Losses? We will find out at 7:40 P.M. How many runs has Matt Olson already saved with his defense this year?
I don’t think the rest of the baseball world really understands how good the Braves are.
The Braves are 12-4, best record in the NL. They have been playing without Max Fried, Michael Harris, Rasiel Iglesias, Travis d’Arnaud, Orlando Arcia, and Colin McHugh.
This team is going to add a top 5 Cy Young candidate, a top 5 closer, the defending rookie of the year, an All-Star catcher, a starting shortstop and a back end bullpen piece.
You should be scared of the Braves.
What's scary is The Braves are winning with some of their best players on the IL, and it's looking more and more likely that Soroka will come back to the majors in a reliever position sometime soon. On a personal note I want Charlie Culberson to be on the braves instead of *Ehire Adrianza. We know how Charlie can be in important situations and how he can play almost any position. not just infield. he should be on the roster now.
*Nothing against Ehire Adrianza, but when key moments come up Charlie always delivers. aka his nickname with Braves fans, "Charlie Clutch."
Maybe the Braves should play in the Show Me State the rest of the season 6-0 .
