Me encanta este pitcher. A parte de que es de Japon, una ciudad y cultura que admiro mucho, su lanzamiento caracteristico, la gyroball, es increible.
Daisuke was one of my favorite pitchers, I miss him being on the Red Sox.
Dice was a MAJOR flop.

WBC in 2009 fucked him up good
all that build up and hype about him coming to the MLB/Boston…he turned out to be such a disappointment to say the least. A pitching god in Japan, his expectations were so great but he Just an average pitcher.
He’s still playing in Dragons in Japan https://youtu.be/2nFiS_nsvxg
Varitek is my favorite catcher.
So did he really have that special pitch? The gyro ball? Or was that all bullshit and hype?
Being a Sawx fan in NYC I owned this town in 2004, 2007, 2013,.2018.
I’ll never forget this game. Dad took me out of school early for a “doctors appointment” and we headed to the K to watch Dice’s debut. A few years later the Sox were back in town and Dice was shagging balls in the outfield during BP. In a sea of royals fans he saw me and tossed a ball up. Only major league ball I’ve ever gotten
If you didn’t thrust your pelvis pretending to be Dice-K you aren’t a real baseball fan
Wow watching this makes me realize that MLB broadcasts would be better if they removed the strike zone from the screen. Knowing every single missed call an ump makes just adds frustration and unwatchability to the game. And dont come at me with robot umps because seeing the umps call outs and strike 3s is one of the sickest parts of baseball haha.
Today is the day that he retired from NPB in Japan.Thank for the excellent performance that the world know beside Ichiro we also got a good pitcher.
Retired today in Japan.
