As a dodgers fan, the padres are the more experienced team. I hate to admit it probably the better team but I expect the dodgers to still be there competing at the end of the season. We’ll be alright, probably fighting until the end with the padres winning the NL west by 2 games and the dodgers going in as a wild card
Blake Treinen actually just underwent shoulder surgery over the offseason. So chances are he won’t make an impact until September/October at the earliest if not most likely 2024.
The star studded approach isn’t working. Winning a 1,000 games a year isn’t working. Have to try something different. Let the Padres win the division, I’d rather this team be playing meaningful games at the end of the season instead of bowling.
Dodgers fan here, the Padres are favorites in my opinion for as position for position, they have an advantage, but I'm good with it. I agree with one person here, that we will be doing what the Astros were doing last year with mixing our rookies with our vets. We will do well to keep on the Padres tails but we won't win it. We do need more starting pitching, don't think Pepiot has his command issues sorted, Michael Grove needs a little time, Bobby Miller should have more time. But we will do well.
Dodgers choked again in the post-season and Roberts over and under coaches, but let's remember this, Padres didn't win the NL.
And the Dodgers did win the West for the what, 10th out of 11th year and that lone year "we" lost by one game with a decimated pitching staff, but redeemed "ourselves " with the elimination of the Giants in the play-offs.
It was time for a youth movement, but with enough proven veterans not to make this a total rebuild.
Like the commentators said, we still have Betts (yeah, he chokes in the post-season a lot), Freeman, Urias, and a Muncy who will benefit immensely from the Shift being eliminated.
Taylor will rebound, Treinan will be healthy as will May on the mound plus the addition of Thor cannot but help bolster the already stacked pitching staff that has been "our" Achilles Heel every post-season.
Outman will be an upgrade offensively at center and not a big drop off defensively and there a bunch of young hard throughing arms ready to stack the relief pitching and Smith will hit for his usual great offensive numbers while behind the plate…he'll also benefit with the elimination of the shift too.
So yeah, "we" choked big time against the Padres, but that was because we went cold going back to the end of the season against the Rockies.
Don't forget you Dodger haters in San Diego and especially San Francisco, the Dodgers did win 111 games last year and did win the West by more than 15 plus games and this without a closer or solid starting pitching.
Buehler is still mending and perhaps by the 2023 post-season will be able to help here and there in relief if not, for sure all of 2024.
Dodgers will have payroll room to go in big for Ohtani and others in 2024 so, let's say 2023 is a bust for the Blue Wrecking Crew. 2024 promises to be another big Dodger Blue year and start of another run at championships….Cataya (catcher) will by then be on the roster and Smith the DH.
San Diego won't be able to afford Ohtani with all those big guarantee contracts on the books and there is no way San Francisco is attractive to him.
Go Dodgers Go all you L.A. haters out there up and down the West Coast in back East.
Lux was moved to second base because he couldn't throw from short, and now he's our OD SS, and Vargas whose had 30 games at second in his career is our 2B. Sure, makes sense. I give it till July and Lux is back at second, Vargas is in the outfield, Trayce is back to being a 4th OF, Rojas is our SS, and Mookie moves to CF. That's not a division winner unless someone breaks out in a big way, and I don't think it'll be Outman like so many other Dodger fans believe. He's too suspiciously similar to Joc to be relied upon.
as much as the dodgers and MLB Network boast of the farm system, Roberts hasn’t shown anything in terms of his ability to develop talent because of his “I gotta go with my guys” mentality. Rather play a struggling Muncy, Taylor, Bellinger, JT for a bit there. Roberts loves to crush young talents’ confidence by playing them at positions they don’t play. Lux hasn’t been as good as we thought, May looks burnt out already, Buehler is cooked, Vargas looked awful in the outfield and pros despite winning minor league player of the year. Not a single postseason AB for Vargas either. Roberts hasn’t really given young guys a chance like Busch, Outman, Miller, Stone, maybe Cartaya has to wait another year??? Some serviceable players like Pepiot and Grove may not get their big league chances this year to stay in the rotation all year. We already dished out on Yordan Alvarez. I have no confidence in Roberts ability to develop young talent and help them succeed at the pro level and build a foundation of core young guys. Roberts is no Terry Francona
It's time to use these top prospects and stop over spending. One of the best farm systems in the game and they need to put it to use more. These kids are hungry and are very talented! Especially the top pitching prospects they have 💯🔥

They'll probably set another win record and then choke in the first round.
As a Dodgers fan, they will be competitive, win 90+, make the playoffs then choke again and disappoint us again
Worse than last year

Dodgers are trying to do what the Astros did last season and bring their rookies to play with their veterans

This kid shuld play 3B, the only guy that Will miss is Trea. Jt and Bellu where bad an average players
Perhaps I just don’t understand the game, but the Dodgers don’t impress this 64 yr. old lifelong baseball fan. Go Cardinals!!!
Heavy favorites? Nah. Wildcard team is the expectation, everything else is house money
The answer to the question is worse off then San Diego
How can that be.Pads have a team that will produce runs at a record rate.Going to be difficult for the Dodgers to beat that team this season.
James Outman NL ROY
Dodgers get the benefit of the doubt by a lot of people considering they have one fugazi championship since 1988
It's gonna be a wild, wild west showdown with SD on top.
2:54 you’re welcome

Big Dodger here so go ahead and pile up on me.

The uncertainty of the Dodgers going into this season is what is going to make it more exciting. Go Dodgers!
Lol as a Dodgers fan, these guys don't know what they're talking about.
I'd give analysis 10x as good as this.

It's going to be a trainwreck of a season. San Diego will win the division by a landslide.
25 year old rookie named Vargas is ur Starting 2nd Base ? Lmfao ….. Sit down LA. 2023 Is Padres Time Baby ! LFGSD !!!
Never doubt the Dodgers knowledge of their own roster. They know what they're doing with Vargas. He's gonna make some noise this year.
like shit lmao!!
Let’s Go Dodgers!! ☝️💙
