  1. That play at the plate Lannan made was impressively athletic and unathletic at the same time.

  2. I feel like in the future you should make a video talking about every team's weirdest postseason starter

  3. As a Met fan I thought Ud say Mike Pelfrey or Jon Niese, I don’t remember Gee starting opening day at all!!!

  4. IMO, Vincente Padilla starting in 2010 for the dodgers was probably the strangest option. It was a dark time in LAD history and the options were limited within the organization. Also, it’s pronounced “gera” not Guewera. You don’t pronounce the U. Just an FYI.

  5. For the cardinals I would’ve gone Miles Mikolas in 2019 but he wasn’t necessarily bad

  6. 5:47 I remember Floyd Youmans because he was drafted by the Mets and was part of the package to Montreal in the Gary Carter trade in 1984

  7. Dillon Gee yessir, definitely a lot less crazy names in the NL version

  8. Another two Reds pitchers that could've made the list are 2002 opener Joey Hamilton, and 2016 opener Rasiel Iglesias… yes that Iglesias.

  9. Could you also do "Weirdest playoff starters." Like lou Triveno in the wildcard. Lou Triveno is still the goat in my eyes. lmfao, have a good night man

  10. I totally blanked on Dillion Gee as the starter, I was sure you were going to pick Mike Pelfrey.

  11. I was at that 2014 Mets opening day. Gee would have won if Bobby P didn’t blow his arm out in the 9th.

  12. 7:50, couple of fun facts here. I once sent Ty Blach his rookie card to sign and he sent it back, and in that game he won 1-0, the sole run was a dinger off the bat of Joe Panik. The very next night, the Giants won 1-0 once again. Guess where the one run came from? You guessed it: a Joe Panik solo HR

  13. My pick as a Braves fan would have been John Burkett in 2001 – From 1990 to 2003, he was the only opening day starter that was not Glavine, Maddux or Smoltz… I don't remember why Burkett ended up starting but 2001 was his best year since his days with the Giants (22 wins in 1993 – one of the best teams ever not to make the playoffs, the last year before wild cards). He was also a champion bowler…!

  14. The show 22 broadcast simulator games PS4 the show 21 broadcast simulator games PS4 games PS4

  15. Just saying it seems like every good player seems to go thru the dbacks, or the mariners, or the padres.. but really seems like the dbacks have every good player early in their career.

  16. Great video considering the LOCKOUT BOLOGNA!!!!1 Thanks Jolly Olly! PS I LOVE that it was difficult for you to find any of our Cardinal open day weirdness!

  17. with all this nonsense with the lockout happening, would you maybe be able to shine some light on some players in the KBO/NPB

  18. Olive, you’re a New York guy aren’t you? Do you know who Dave LaPointe was pitching coach for not too long ago?

  19. How was Johny Cueto an weird opening day starter, he was an all star for like 3 straight seasons and one of the top NL pitchers

  20. Scott Feldman shows how bad the reds starters were that year, he actually pitched insane that game, a complete game shutout

  21. Since you left out the Expos portion of the Nats history, I will nominate Jim Bullinger in 1997, 6.54 ERA the year before with the Cubs, 97 was his only year with the Expos

  22. Josh Collmenter went to a High School in my county. I trained with his teammate who was the actual Ace on some of those teams with Collmenter but his career got derailed by injuries.

  23. My favorite Dillon Gee trivia is the fact that his injury in 2014 is what got Jacob deGrom a spot in the rotation instead of being used in the bullpen.

  24. Without watching the video, I'm guessing Jolly Olive picked Mike Pelfrey for the 2011 Mets (Santana was injured the whole season)

  25. The words Dave LaPoint, and genuinely good pitcher should never uttered in the same sentence. The guy was freaking terrible.
