What impact will the new dimensions have at the Blue Jays ballpark?

Predict Toronto’s record for the 2023 season:

  1. We want shorter games but more offense and we want to make games as difficult to find on TV as humanly possible.
    -MLB

  2. 15 point average increase on batting average? A 5 points average increase would be big.

  3. As a fan I can sleep good at night knowing my favorite players won't be injured during a play at 2nd or home..

  4. Can’t wait for my Yanks to tear that Canadian short porch up and point right at Vlad in the dugout for his little comments the last other day lol..good luck!

  5. Baseball is the only sport that's the stadiums dimensions vary, just imagine a Aaron Judge in Wrigley field, i would like to see if MLB regulates ball park dimensions, and what would they be!

  6. The Jays have been picking up speedy guys. Wonder if they're planning to amp up the running game this season.

  7. Outside of home runs, shouldn't offense go down? Harder for balls to fall into gaps in a smaller infield with less total area in the outfield.

  8. Like their wasnt already high scoring games there, some games will be higher scoring than football games lol

  9. Great for getting fans closer but beyond lame to bring right center fence in to 358’. That’s beyond ridiculous. It’s not even fun to watch when a player clearly gets beat on a fastball but still goes oppo. So dumb. I’d rather see a solid line drive single over that garbage. No disrespect to the Jays or that stadium – it’s going to look phenomenal. But pitchers shouldn’t not be rewarded for beating a hitter.

  10. Might be harder for line drive home run hitters like Vladdy, a lot of his bombs are just a screaming line drive that keeps going over the wall

  11. Even though the difference doesn't matter anymore, AL teams still try as hard as possible to prove its the cheap league as compared to the NL. Power to them.

  12. If you add a pitch clock to speed up the game but then also ban the shift, which will increase the amount of offense. Wouldn’t they just cancel each other out? A team scoring 2 runs an inning and batting around the line-up takes at least twice as long as a pitcher without a pitch clock…

  13. The corners aren't closer, fellas. Still 328 down the line, and the walls are higher in the corners.

  14. This was one of my favorites because fans can't interfere, anywhere! Netting in foul ground from pole to pole and impossible for a fan in the OF to interfere. Now tho, we just have to have the fans closer for whatever reason. Now we will see interference because fans don't know how to keep their hands on their side. I really liked this place when they didn't have all this infield dirt, only around the bases. Looked cool and unique. Now they just blend in. Also liked the Skydome name more. Basically this stadium is just middle of the pack to me now.

  15. New stadium is to entertain the pretend fans. Arrive late, can't stay in their seats, always on their phones, no attention span and leave early. But Roger's wants them there buying their overpriced beer and hot dogs. Real fans don't need to party on the deck in centre field

  16. Football fields, basketball courts, hockey rinks, boxing rings, tennis courts.. I can go on and on the number one facter is that they are the same dimensions.. I understand it would never happen but I'd like to see a full season of baseball with every ball park the same dimensions..

  17. They should be working on a way to put natural grass on the field instead of playing around with wall distances. Nobody wants to come play on that turf.

  18. As a Jays fan I'm disappointed they're moving the walls in…I'm all for the renovation, but this is ridiculous. Baseball is too much about hitting home runs as it is, we certainly don't need smaller ballparks.

  19. They move the fences in and proceed to sign Chad Green who is an extreme flyball pitcher. Dude will lead all relievers in home runs allowed.
