One thing I LOVE about him is that he's moving to first base on contact instead of standing at home plate, flipping the bat and staring at the flight of the ball. Good to see that he hasn't been contaminated by current players who's ego and disregard for baseball fundamentals run rampant in the sport.

That's a good example how the speed of the pitch means nothing. Ryan threw hard but had movement and a killer curve. Two of Ohtani's HR's I noticed were 98 MPH and his double on a 99 mph pitch. Kids today are so impressed with how hard they throw, but the minor leagues are full of 98 MPH pitchers, and a few 100+ pitchers (Alex Meyer) Ohtani"s splitter is very difficult to hit. He keeps them guessing, because he throws a flat fastball, but it sets up that splitter or curve from that fastball.
