If I’m the Pirates I make an example of him and make him stay to FA. Tired of players telling teams to trade them. These teams sink millions into a player after they draft them. They spend the time developing them so hopefully a good fanbase with bad ownership gets a player or 2 they can cheer for because they know a championship isn’t gonna happen for awhile, if ever. Sometimes teams get lucky and get a class act like McCutchen. Sometimes they get a whiner like Reynolds. Players get to choose where they play when they hit free agency, not before. Most of the other sports are all messed up with players constantly demanding a trade. Especially, basketball. It’s hard to become a fan of a team because there is always so much roster shakeup. NBA fans of today missed out on the 80-90s. Most teams had a superstar and each team had a player that other fans outright hated. If the trade demands start becoming a regular thing in baseball, yet another thing that made it my favorite game will be gone. I don’t take a side in the players vs owners debate. I take the side of the fans and Pittsburgh fans lose if they trade him for prospects that might or might not work out.
