2001/09/04: Boston Red Sox 3 at Baltimore Orioles 0, F — Making his first start for Boston, Hideo Nomo throws his second no-hitter; only the fourth pitcher to spin a no-no in both leagues

  4. it's retarded that Cal Ripken's hit didn't count as a basehit. This is really a shutout. How does one know that Ripken's power and spin on the ball didn't cause the guy to drop it.? This is a shutout. Not a true No-hitter. But I do like Nomo

  6. That ponson kid was pretty impressive. His two seamer really flattened out after the second inning though

  7. In most of the world the date is: Day/Month/Year, not Month/Day/Year. Do a little research, you may learn something.

  8. Kinda cool to see Dante Bichette be one of the first guys out to congratulate Nomo.He must've been thinking that he was glad not to be on the losing end of this Nomo no-hitter like he was in Colorado

  9. The date is correct.  In most other places in the world the date is written in the format: day/month/year.  It's mostly in America and a few other places you will see it writen in the form: month/day/year.

  10. The date is wrong now matter how you style the date. This game occurred on the 4th of April.

  11. Nomo is still the ONLY pitcher to toss No Hitters at Coors Field and Camden Yards.

  12. How funny is it that Delino Deshields was at Nomo's first No Hitter at Coors Field as his teammate who recorded the next to last out then at his second one as the last out.

Btw, what a horrible trade the stupid Dodgers made trading Pedro Martinez for Delino.

  13. The date of the game was April 4th 2001. It was the second game of the season. I remember because I drove from Massachusetts to attend the opening day at Camden Yards in which Pedro Martinez pitched and the Red Sox lost on a walk-off. I was strongly debating staying for the whole series and I really wish I did cuz I would have seen the no-hitter but I drove back to Massachusetts and then regretted it when Nomo's no hitter hit the news

  14. i was boston fan. but now is not.. i’m disappointed with boston. just nostalgia..

  15. Thank you for posting this! So awesome. He led the league in Ks and BBs in 2001

  16. Nomo was the only pitcher to throw a no-hitter on the road in the American League between 1992-2010

  17. Wonder how many other pitchers have thrown a no hitter in their debut start for a team?
