“Clouds on Sakagami” describes the story of the brothers Akiyama Yoshiko and Akiyama Shin, who were born in the Matsuyama domain, and the writer Masaoka Shiki who grew up together since childhood. The second half of the story, especially after Shiki’s death, focuses on the Russo-Japanese War to which the Akiyama brothers were deeply connected. The author Sima Ryotaro attempted to capture the full picture of the Russo-Japanese War, and a new batch of characters appeared, including Kodama Gentaro, Togo Heihachiro, Nogi Nogi, etc.
