@firesideyankees Ryan Garcia I don’t see Elmer Rodriguez won’t be on the Yankees rotation in the beginning of the season can the Yankees Rotation survive first 2 months until Ròdon and Cole gets back from injury,Shortstop is a question mark Jose Cabarello could take the shortstop position from Volpe this could be Volpe last chance to perform well and bullpen is the number one problem there are very short!
Ryan, Schmidt's TJ surgery was the 2nd in his career so they will have to take it slower with him.
id really like to see elmer getting a chance to beat gil out of camp but obviously thats not gonna happen for good reason even if elmer is on fire
What does Harrison Cohen have to do this Spring to get a shot?
Why does everyone focus on power and HRs for alllllll players. Heard plenty on this channel where talking about prospects and say “not much power”. Who TF cares.
Don’t need replicas up and down this lineup.
Pitching is more about what is between the ears than most think. Cole reminds me of Mussina, and I am sure he will find a way to be effective, even if his stuff takes a step back. I think staff is deep and can be very good.
There is a serious amount of Volpe hatred. We need to take a step back and see what happens by the break. I think there is a decent amount upside with this kid.
1. pitching, pitching then pitching
2. will Boones Platoon work, in game decision making.
3. fundamentals, running bases, defense.
I love analytics but they inherently have limitations. You can justify idea by simply surrounding it with certain stats while ignoring others. You can make numbers say almost anything. We need to supplement analytics with what we see with our eyes. Stats can give you an overview, but the game is played by people. Emotions, Baseball IQ, Stress, and situational Baseball all play a role. There is a real difference stepping into the box with no one out in a game that is a blow out, than facing a opportunity to drive in meaningful runs late in the game.
3. Catcher, 3rd, 2nd, CF, bullpen, Cole and Rodon, too many strikeouts, defense, fundamentals, low baseball IQ's.
2. Cashman.
1. Boone.
My biggest concern is if Judge gets hurt or teams just pitch around him and the Yankees hitters can’t drive him in.
Volpe is an automatic ou. He is one reason why the Yankees will not go to the promise land
To begin the season the starting pitching isn't inspiring. They have to hope Cole and Rodon return, in strong form, and a few of those starters have an impact on that bullpen. I don't see Volpe as a positive at all, only because he's never been a factor in his three previous years. Too many players who can't hit lefties, some of who can't field at any position on the field.
My biggest worry is when Volpe comes back and he has to stay in the lineup the entire year. I don’t want him on the team. He 🤮
A lot of questions… a lot of potential.
