Can’t wait for movement to start
Donavan would be a help.
Per Spotrac, the Yanks already have a projected 255 payroll. I’d expect them to add until 300-305 (leaving 10 for the deadline additions) since they ended at 305 and 315 in 2025 and 2024 respectively. Essentially, they are only going to spend 45 to 50 more this offseason. A SP and LF is unrealistic, unless Hal decides to up payroll for just this year because of the agreement looming—and his bonus that’s coming with it. Additionally, I find that SP is not that large of a need. Why spend 20 ish on another starter when we have young guys like Gil, Schmidt, Schlittler, and Warren for extremely cheap and are most likely to perform better than the new guy that we will bring in. 4 young pitchers with Lagrange coming up soon marks no reason to spend on pitching this year. I agree with the question marks about strikeouts, but we cannot forget that Gil and Schlittler barely pitched and both should be top end strikeout pitchers when healthy. Bullpen is their biggest need, and I expect them to allocate around 15 of the 45-50 that they are going to spend on it. They lost countless games last year due to their bullpen, and we cannot forget this fact just because of their starters implosions in the ALDS. Adding at LF is a luxury, but I agree that they should be adding there. It allows Dominguez and Jones to be moved for those bullpen pieces. Since they should have like 35 left to spend on LF, why not go get Tucker? Hes the best talent in FA and he’s got no market. Should be a simple but calculated offseason. Bullpen and Tucker, and it would be a great offseason.
A strong right handed bat is a huge need. We are way too left handed in the lineup. I’d like to see a trade for Tatis or another strong righty bat…ideally one that can play short so we can move on from Volpe.
LET'S GO YANKEES
Biggest needs are a new GM and a new manager.
Michael kopeck (definitely wrong spelling) should already be signed right now. Matt Blake would turn him into a monster.
Volpe .212
McMahon .214
Wells .219
We're good 👍
I want to stay away from Bellinger
Let get Bregman or kazuma
Starting infielder is a must. I don’t see a team with Ryan McMahon and a wasted roster spotted shortstop or Caballero at shortstop winning a championship.
Tucker
Imai
Kim/ Donovan/ Marte
Halvorsen
Kopech
Wow! Finally got some attention around this issue with the starting pitching. So many Yankee fans talk about the 2026 rotation like it's special and it really isn't. If you look at this past year's post season result, all 3 of Fried, Rodon and Warren were disastrous against the Blue Jays in the LDS. Absolutely embarrassing. And the starters were no better the year before in the WS against the Dodgers. Schmidt lasted 2.2 innings, Rodon got bombed in 3.1 innings in Game 2 and Gil lasted just 4 innings. I just don't know where people have this idea that the Yankees have this outstanding rotation.
Anybody who thinks that the Yankees can rest on their laurels with a 36 year old Gerrit Cole rehabbing from TJ surgery so late in his career? You all need to make friends with reality. If it happens, that's great, but if that's what the team is banking on? That's absurd.
How about Bo bichette for SS until the Jr kid is ready ?
How do we get better than last year ? Better hitters and better pitching ?
Only problem is Tucker is not a left fielder, especially at Yankee Stadium. Not disagreeing he is probably better than Bellinger, but not sure it's going to workout defensively
Hope Okamoto comes cheaper than expected for a signing at third.
