Brenden Schaeffer tries to make sense of the Yohel Pozo news over the past week. The Cardinals non-tendered him last week, but on Monday, news emerged that they’re signing him to a contract.
What gives? And what does it all mean for Ivan Herrera, Pedro Pages, Jimmy Crooks and Leonardo Bernal? We’ll explain.
NOTE: Apologies for the audio quality from the last few minutes of the show, my microphone settings got switched and I did not notice it until it was too late. Will be better for next episode!

I would assume it was some sort of strategic thing? Also maybe just incase Herrera doesn't work out….again. But it's not a bad idea to keep a catcher around that everyone seemed to like. I also have a strong feeling they will run a similar game like last season and Ivan won't catch everyday. We might see a 3-way split between them or just Pedro and Ivan. Pozo will be the backup to the backup (Office Joke).
OUR KING IS BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!!
My hypothesis before listening to the video: they really value his bat off the bench and will have him play some corner infield OR Pages is getting dealt
👍 👍
The instagram says the cardinals signed pozo to a major league contract, was that a typo?
Is there a world where Herrera shows up to Jupiter and has a horrific spring defensively and we see the Cardinals abandon ship on him being behind the plate? Or will they give him some run in the regular season basically no matter what?
I like it. He came through for the Cards many times.
I’m a padres fan I watched one series against stl I liked pozo
My read is that it makes it easier for front office to trade one of a few catching prospects for something
