Reality is the AL should send a thank-you basket to the Dodgers, because if Ohtani stayed, he’d still be steamrolling the league and collecting Unanimous MVPs like Costco samples. Last year people were convincing themselves Lindor had a chance, this year it was Schwarber, and next year someone else will get their hopes up… but we all already know how the story ends.
No one’s close. Ohtani isn’t just winning — he’s on a mission to surpass Barry Bonds and scoop every offensive award like he’s shopping with an unlimited coupon. As long as he’s healthy, everybody else is basically playing for runner-up.
