So many positives from this M’s game- after just his 4th day off all yr Cal continues his MVP push. D-Mo broke through from his slump, Garver with Hits in back to back game inc a tater in this game, Solano getting the barrel on the ball. We need all 3 of those bench players to give the regulars days off down the stretch.
So happy to see Geno come through in an RBI situation, Julio continuing his torrid month. The top of the lineup was lethal, obviously but, to me, the guy that had every bit as good a game as Cal Raleigh was Cole Young! He would’ve had 4 RBI if not for that ground rule dbl. He has been absolutely phenomenal in that 8th or 9th spot. He battles every AB, has a great feel for the strike zone which contributes to his high OBP and his ability to consistently hit at the bottom of the lineup is a huge factor in this lineups ability to chase SP’s before they reach the 6th. There is no let up for Pitchers when he, Canzone and JP are all getting on base, it’s why this lineup can be devastating, and to me it’s why this 1-9 is the best one we’ve seen in Seattle in a very, VERY long time. GOMS

Being an MLB pitcher is extremely difficult. With that in mind, Luis Castillo does not feel like he belongs in the same league as the Mariners other 3 starters; Kirby, Gilbert, and Woo. Those 3 are all all on a different plane of talent. I hope he can tighten it up, if not moving him to a reliever spot and bring in some one more consistent.
What the heck man we. Can't even get a hit let alone only 1 fricken run. You know for damn sure that's not going to hold up. They will bring in STANECK and he will give up 8 runs before we bring in another pitcher.
