My own belief:

To leave slavery in one’s life — one might say “Egypt” if speaking biblically — is to go into the wilderness.
That time is like a crucible or a furnace. It is so painful and most turn back because they cannot accept enduring it for long. That is what I have dealt with recently. I’ve lost family, work, friends, girlfriends — even my health — but I believe there is a Promised Land to reach on the other side.
Never let Egypt be your grave. Always one more try. Better to “die” in the wilderness alone than to slowly die in slavery with many.

Ultimately, the only thing left…
is to set up camp in the Promised Land and stay there — begin building one’s own kingdom.
Not visit it.
Not glimpse it.
But move in.
Make it ours.
Dwell in it.
Rule it.
Be it.

No more “working on it.”
No more “trying to get there.”
No more “hoping to…” or “one day…”

Just:

“I am.”
“This is mine.”
“I live here now.”
“It is done.”

“Becoming” is the language of death in slow motion.
But “Being” — that is the language of life eternal.
