  1. While it was a solid appearance for Melton and a congratulations to him, there seems to be articles popping up on Sports Illustrated (for example) "THE TIGERS TO MAKE MELTON A PERMANENT PART OF PITCHING LINE UP" is jumping the gun a little I think, or as some might say: a little premature.

As I watched the game yesterday, I thought about what I've heard people say recently: MLB is a kids game played by adults that make a rediculous amount of money. It's also often associated to compared to High School ball indicating baseball is apparently that simple.

As I wanted Melton on the mound yesterday that's what I was thinking of. Here's a High School ball player pitching to veterans and they can't hit him. That could tell you a lot about baseball and jobs in particular. The GRIND wears you down. Hockey has 80 regular season games. Basketball I believe has the same. Football, what a bunch of wimps, only has 13 regular season games. Maybe the baseball season is too long. If you're players are just going through the grind, their performance drops and these guys are making millions! While you're guy busting his butt on the assembly line making Dodge trucks is making significantly less, isn't wearing a fancy chain or two or three around his neck, but works a lot harder (yeah, it's a really imbalanced society) but Melton, while he had a game, the Diamond Backs aren't that great of an MLB team. Detroit had just come off a losing streak to the Blue Jays that got whooped by the Oriales 11-4 and Detroit also lost the series to the Texans that haven't been doing that great. How would Melton fare up against the Blue Jays or the Texans? Detroit is just in a desperate situation right now. They're showing they're not a Playoff team right now and not a real contender for the World Series. Had it been playoffs season, they would've been out the first round losing to the Texans. Or, maybe they would've beaten the Guardians, but then lost to the Texans and would've have faced off against the Blue Jays.

A little too early to start writing things in stone. Better to wait and see how the kid does against a higher tier team

  2. also fun fact that never gets mentioned tigers are 56-0 when leading into or after the 8th inning this season!! 🤷‍♂️💪🤷‍♂️👍
