People forget Theo Epstein is part owner of the Red Sox and when nomar was a cancer in the clubhouse in 2004 Theo shipped him to the Cubs. The Sox went on to win the World Series that year. Devers was getting paid 31 million a year and wouldn’t be flexible to help the club. Yeah he is a great hitter. So was Nomar. They just freed up 285 million dollars in payroll. As a Sox fan I have faith. They brought Boston 4 titles in 15 years. They broke the 86 year old curse to bring first title. They are stocked with young talent and have money to spend with a low payroll. This is a transition year. It was always going to be about getting the prospects up and getting them ready. Next year they will be in the hunt for another title. Look around

Smart move by Boston FO to move a May Player of the Week winner at his peak value. They just wisely dumped a over weight problem-child and his bag in exchange for a future Cy Young arm, a future HOF starter and a five tool HOF type outfielder who will contribute big time in 2026. Plus another young wicked arm for 2027 and beyond. With this albatross gone the future is bright for our RedSox. Let's Go!

As a Red Sox fan devers sucked at playing defense, bringing in Bregman was a good move. And since devers didn’t want to move from 3rd and play DH of first , the front office made the right decision on trading him, even if is offensive will be miss
