Will Devers be the bane or boon of the Giants..
We can blame Lee for not going or Williams for not sending. But Schmidt fucked up bad on the bases, bad on defense and bad at the plate. Those 2 grand slams are flukes (look at his stats)

The Devers effect seems to have been of limited value. Most of the rest of the lineup still can't hit. Runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out, followed by a first pitch pop up, and a weak ground out by the leadoff hitter. Then there was Schmitt's bonehead play getting doubled up on a fly ball. Not that it would have mattered, as the next batter hit what would have likely been a routine double play. The Giants also need a new third base coach. Not sending Lee on the fly ball to medium deep left field was inexcusable. Yes, he might have been thrown out at the plate, but the chances of scoring a run were much greater than those of expecting Schmitt to get a hit or walk. Schmitt has never seen a pitch he didn't like, unless it's down the middle of the plate, so he struck out swinging on two pitches not even close to the strike zone. The third base coach also blew some other plays recently against the Dodgers. In one he held up Ramos, who would have scored easily had he been waved home. Instead, Ramos held up, and then when the relay throw was bobbled, broke for home and an easy out. He held up another runner who would have scored as well. The third base coach is by far the most important non-player on the field. He's really almost the 10th offensive player. The first base coach is just window dressing, but the third base coach has a real job. You need someone in that position who is up to the job, who realizes the game situation and sends a fast runner on a medium deep fly ball, vs. hoping a player bat, who has an eighty percent chance of striking out, combined with a fifty percent chance of hitting a weak grounder, and a forty percent chance of popping out, for a nearly 99 percent chance of making an out.
Schmidt is a WEAK LINK and SHOULD NOT BE in THIS LINEUP.. HIS MISTAKES are COSTLY and HE MAKES too MANY OF THEM..A Batting average of 230avg WREAKS that HE is NOT A MAJOR TALENT.. SORRY, but HE NEEDS to GO ; ALONG with Whoever SCOUTED and SIGNED HIM..

Guardians worse off this year . and when they do win their like the NFL Cleve Browns of 1980 . They called them the cardiac kids then with there last play wins . but The Cleve Guards of today don't win enough . compared to 2024 when they lose this year its like by 4 runs or more, get crushed , sigh… Im gonna stop watching every day and save myself from having a heart attack , lol . maybe just see how Guards are doing in the standings once a week . I think I'll watch replays of the 2 worst in the mlb this year the white sox and rockies . just relax and when they pull of a win it will be great , i love when underdogs pull off an upset ..,, yeah i know im just rambling, blah blah blah . i will cease typing right now for your sake and mine lol

A graffiti inspired uniform and a team logo that's been colored to resemble the woke flag definitely deserves an L. But so does a team that changed its name to appease a handful of white liberals. So its hard to pick sides for this game.

Can’t hit with men on-base… with or without Devers.
Even with all of the excitement and hoopla, they still lost. Their lack of hitting with runners in scoring position showed up again. Case in point, was when they had runners in 2nd and 3rd with less than 2 outs and failed to at least get one run. The results? Pop-up and fly-out. The annoying one being Knizner popping up on the first pitch. Even if Devers hits, and the rest don’t in crucial moments, they’re still gonna lose.
