Hey, good job man. Signing Trevor Bauer is good for both parties. Cheap, and eats up innings for us while giving him a footprint into the majors. Let him pitch and trade him to a contender in July.

Now that I’m further through the pod, I’ll say my piece about the SP situation.
I see people clamoring for Trevor Bauer.
No. And not even because of his court case(which, btw, the accuser was charged with defrauding…so yeah, make of that what you will.)
First and foremost, Bauer was getting shelled over in Japan, last I heard. So to everybody asking for him, do you really want a guy who isn’t anywhere close to as good as you remember him being 3-4 years ago?
And second, Trevor Bauer is pretty clearly a PoS if you’ve ever seen him conduct himself off the field. Not exactly someone you’d have a beer with. Frankly, I don’t want somebody like that in my favorite team’s clubhouse, making it a miserable place to be. Especially since he 99% likely won’t be any good on the mound.
Not to mention the bad press he’d bring because of the court case. All that would bring is negativity, regardless of the end result of said case. I feel a player AND a personality like Trevor Bauer is the LAST thing the Marlins need as an organization right now.
If we need a FA innings eater, you can easily find someone who will perform, at the bare minimum, about as badly as Bauer, without bringing any of the extracurricular problems Bauer and his personality would bring.
