94 MPH at 4:27 on his 183rd pitch. Tomohiro Anraku, the 16-year-old phenom out of Ehime, Japan, was made famous after hurling 772 pitches in 5 games over 9 days in the Spring Koshien High School Baseball Tournament. In the Summer Koshien High School Baseball Tournament, Anraku threw 183 pitches in his final game during the second round. Here is some video highlighting his pitching repertoire and rhythm during his last game. His final pitch was clocked at 152 KPH, or 94 MPH. (4:27 marker in the video)
It should be noted that his velocity increased as he went deeper into the game, which started at 8 AM. His fastball sat in the upper eighties, but he was able to rev it up to 92 when needed, and even hit 94 a few times. Similarly, his control improved later in the game, as he was able to effectively bury his hard slider in on lefties.
Additionally, Anraku, batting cleanup, hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to bring his team within one run. Unfortunately, his heroic efforts fell short, and his team lost 7-6 to Hanamaki Higashi, out of Iwate Prefecture.
