Brandon McIlwain is a professional baseball outfielder known for his exceptional dual-sport collegiate career in both football and baseball.

He attended Council Rock High School North, where he excelled in both sports. In football, he amassed over 10,000 yards of total offense and 123 touchdowns, leading to numerous scholarship offers. He committed to the University of South Carolina, where he played as a true freshman quarterback in 2016, participating in eight games and starting three. He completed 62 of 118 passes for 600 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception, and rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

Brandon went on to play both football and baseball at Cal Berkeley where he would start one year at QB on the football team before shifting his focus to baseball where he would be drafted by the New York Mets.
