Re report Santander signs 5 year 92.5m deal w/ Toronto: O's will miss his production and clubhouse leadership next year maybe more than they think. And he said he wanted to come back to Baltimore so re-signing him was likely doable unlike with Burnes. Interesting how the division rival Blue Jays who have seen him closely over the years thinks he is worth a long-term deal while the O's did not. Hope it works out for both O's and Tony and that Kjersted gets his opportunity to play more and O'Neill stays healthy and plays well. Glad Tony remains in AL East where he knows his way around. But it still reminds me of the saying – "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush."
I don't think the orioles offered him any contract like not even a 3 year deal. Connor, are the orioles still thinking of trading for an Ace Pitcher, these are my 5 ideas:
option #1. they should trade coby mayo, Heston kjerstad, and other prospect for Dylan cease, manny machado, and Fernando tatis/ sign profar
Option #2. Send coby mayo, Heston, trevor rodgers and chance McDermott to Seattle for. Bryce miller & castillo
Option #3. Send coby mayo, Heston, trevor rodgers/chance McDermott to Minnesota for Pablo lopez and Byron buxton
Option #4. Coby mayo, Heston kjerstad, chance McDermott & trevor rodgers to Pittsburgh for Paul skenes and Bryan reynolds/ Andrew McCutchen
Option #5. Coby mayo, Jackson holiday/Heston kjerstad, trevor rodgers and chance McDermott to Detroit for tarik Skubal and Austin meadows. Which of these 5 Option do you like for us to get our Ace.
