About MLB.com:
Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig announced on January 19, 2000, that the 30 Major League club owners voted unanimously to centralize all of Baseball’s internet operations into an independent technology company. Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) was formed and charged with developing, building and managing the most comprehensive baseball experience available on the internet. In August 2002, MLB.com streamed the first-ever live, full length MLB game when the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees faced off at Yankee Stadium. Since that time, millions of baseball fans around the world have subscribed to MLB.TV, the live video streaming product that airs every game in HD to nearly 400 different devices. MLB.com also provides an array of mobile apps for fans to choose from, including At Bat, the highest-grossing iOS sports app of all-time. MLB.com features a stable of club beat reporters and award-winning national columnists, the largest contingent of baseball reporters under one roof, who deliver over 100 original articles every day. MLB.com also offers extensive historical information and footage, online ticket sales, official baseball merchandise, authenticated memorabilia and collectibles and fantasy games.

Wow. I'm just going through my videos to see what it's time to delete & what to keep & I came across this again…………….Man.
Every time i see these videos it brings tears to my eyes. What an emotional time this was if you're a baseball fan.
A Real life Shakespearean tragedy. A young promising life gone too soon.
Came to America to make his dreams come true. Became a professional, all-star baseball pitcher. Became a US Citizen. Happy go lucky baseball star meets pretty young girl. Baseball star & pretty young girl fall in love. Young baseball star announces to his teammates & homies that his girl is pregnant & he's going to become a proud father. Everything he ever wanted is coming true. Six days later,……….He's dead.
The shock & emotion of the Miami Marlins players & front office on their faces as this tragic event sunk in said it all.
And I don't know if it was just coincidence or if he was seeked out by the cameras, but Dee Gordon's emotion, actions, face, seemed to define the moment. He was either crying, or standing stoically with a lone tear coming from his eye, or sitting down in what appeared to be shock, dazed, staring off into space. Not to take away the pain of the other players, but Dee Gordon broke my heart during that whole tragic event.
The pain & emotion, the tears he displayed, just got to me & my emotions. He seemed destroyed.
And when he hit that home run, after taking a pitch in the right hand batters box, his unnatural side, wearing Jose's helmet, & after that painfully emotional opening ceremony to Jose Fernandez, where I had no idea that "Take me out to the Ballgame" played by a sad lone trumpet could sound like "Taps", and he started crying as he rounded the bases, and arrived at home plate to a sea of Marlins players hugging him as he cried into their arms, I just realized that this guy seemed annointed to carry & officially display the grief of this organization. I cried, & looked at it over & over & over again. The timing of that emotional moment almost seemed spiritual. It was like a sad movie! Straight out of "Brian's Song".
Wow. Well, time has moved on now. Stanton & Gordon play for other teams now. The front office is changing, mgmt, etc, a la Derek Jeter.
But as a baseball fan, I will never forget that time. And the lessons it taught. Life is short, make the most of it. Make the most of every moment. Thank God for every day. I heard somewhere, "We are all on this earth but for a split second between eternities.".
Words to live by.
And the dark lesson from all this, which we all must learn, Drugs & Alcohol destroy.
But I don't want to dwell on that. Jose made a misjudgment, as we all do. None of us is perfect. It does not take away the pain, the emotion, the extreme sense of loss that was exhibited by the Marlins Organization, but what we must continue to do, is to continue to impress upon people, young & old, that the curse of drugs & Alcohol is something that must be avoided, & I know it's easier said than done. But these brain altering, life altering substances can ruin, even take lives.
But that said, what I want to dwell on is the life. Jose can be an inspiration to us all to follow your dreams. Chase them even if it seems impossible. Make it happen! That is the positive I cherish. And he made it happen for himself. We can make it happen for ourselves.
We never did see where Dee Gordon's homerun ball landed. My guess is, he hit it so hard & so far, it probably wound up in heaven, where Jose caught it, and is holding it close to his heart. Jose knows where it came from, and is smiling.
PLEASE DON'T EVER DELETE THIS VIDEO!!!!
I'm not deleting it from my videos.
God bless the Hernandez Family & the Marlins Organization.
Peace, love & strength as we all travel down life's road filled with triumphs , disappointments, pain, ups & downs.
Be strong.
Peace.
The saddest game in MLB history
Feels like we are losing everyone Tyler skaggs just passed away
And who says that there's no crying in baseball
Awesome video
I am scarred with goosebumps
Love how Colon grooves it for Gordon in the beginning, definitely the right thing to do in the moment
I cried watching this game while studying for finals 250 miles north of the stadium.
Ah yes the New York…….
Nets?
I’m not religious at all. But that home run, that might make me a little bit of a believer right there
Was at this game. It didn't feel like real life
The amount of ads you have are disgusting.
Bartolo was clutch for pitching that ball to Gordon
NYN New York nets
God Rest your soul Jose D Fernandez now your with the big boyz in Heaven Amen
Wow!!!! This was something special……
The fact that all the ads are in the first few minutes is absolutely terrible 😂
Damn. Remember warming up for my amatuer baseball league and getting this notification and telling the team. Messed up the mood big time. Descansa n pas chico..
Dee garden why’s he crying
3:06
I'm a Mets fan, but I remember wanting the Marlins to win.
At the very end of the game I thought, good lord the Marlins were stacked, they had dee gorden gincorlo Stanton, Yeli, and Ichiro
23:40 One of the most emotional home runs ever hit. The spirit of Jose Fernandez was behind that one.
Classy of Bartolo to go in pretty chill to open the game. Props to the Mets, and wow… what a difficult game to play. Definitely the saddest game ever played.
This game.
First game in NYC after 9/11.
Mets vs Phillies 2011 when OBL was killed.
The Mets are involved with a lot of memorable games.
Why does it say NYN instead of NYM
why is it NYN
Stanton, yelich, ozuna, and realmuto sheesh
23:39 Dee Gordon hits the home run
Don't do coke
Real emotions prevailed after Dee Gordon's home run
22:40 is what you’re lookin for
I don't watch baseball (Except random youtube vids) and i don't even know Jose Fernandez but its a sad story and i cried when Dee hit that homerun. I've been sleeping on this sport for too long now.
エチェバリア、ボーア、コンリー……
日本に来た選手もいるね
生涯忘れられない試合だ。
Was this before or after they found out he killed two other people and was on drugs and alcohol? What a shame.
