  1. Look who expels to Wakamatsu, the popular Jim Joyce, umpire that undid a no-hitter to Armando Galarraga. Is a Accident that has driven out Alcides Escobar, for be Venezuelan? In Venezuela you don't forget you, Joyce

  2. It's as though the announcing crew expected this to happen, not even expressing shock at the retaliation or the ejection.

  3. i'm so shocked…. kc playing dirty and instigating…. I am unsarcastically shocked that it wasn't ventura though

  4. glad the royals get this out of the way at the beginning of the season. teams respect us now that they know we'll stick up for each other.

  5. People who don't follow the Royals don't know what had transpired up to this point in time. The Royals had more HBPs at that point in the season than any other team except the Rangers. It was clear some of the HBPs were strategic and intentional. Four of our best batters were being hit repeatedly. Alex Rios' hand was broken by an HBP. The umpires were not doing what needed to be done and then Lawrie carelessly slides into Escobar cleats up and removes him from playing (there's actually a rule that could have been invoked to call Lawrie out but the umpires didn't do anything). By standing up for themselves, the Royals forced the umpires to consider the fact that an organization was paying millions of dollars to players who were at risk due to excessive HBPs. A message was sent that the Royals weren't going to stand by and allow themselves to be assaulted during a game. The HBPs against the Royals decreased after these early incidents and, for the most part, the Royals have returned to the group of guys who just don't care about anything other than playing to win, having fun and celebrating their success. Bottom line: the Royals have moved on – it's time for everyone else to do the same.

  6. what i dont get when herrera threw that pitch it was at kc i think y were they celebrateing that he got thrown out was it cause he deserved it no that cant be it or that kev almost hit him if they did clap cuz of that that aint nice u shouldnt clap just cause u almostnhit a dude

  7. Who became acting manager after Yost and Wakamatsu were ejected? The hitting coach?
Rusty Kuntz looked to be the only one level-headed enough to keep people calm.

  8. Did Herrera get in trouble for pointing at his head saying he should've hit Lawrie in the head?

  9. It seems the commentators here don't seem to understand, Lawrie intentionally injured Escobar earlier with a VERY dirty slide. Herrera was out of line, but Lawrie is a complete asshole.

  10. thats actually the best umpire crew just Joyce and Gibson alone could handle a game

  11. I'm a Phillies fan, but I'm glad that Herrera got thrown out by Gibson, that was a disgraceful display of trying to hurt Lawrie by throwing at him. Horrible display. I don't care much for retaliation because it only gets people hurt.
