This month you will find simple stories that children will beg, \u201cDo it again! Do it again!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Everyone who tells a story adds their own flavor and personality to it. Here are some creative ideas you\u2019ll find this month to make stories come alive:<\/p>\n<p>flannel board    tell and draw<br \/>\nfile folder         overhead<br \/>\npaper tear       story house<br \/>\nparticipation<\/p>\n<p>Hint! It\u2019s important to set the stage and capture children\u2019s attention before you begin telling a story. <\/p>\n<p>Say a finger play, sing a song, or put on an apron or hat to indicate it\u2019s that special time of day.<\/p>\n<p>Birdies &#8211;<br \/>\nWay up in the sky \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Put hands in arm pits and flap arms\u00a0<br \/>\nThe big birdies fly. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0like a bird.)\u00a0<br \/>\nWay down in the nest\u00a0 \u00a0(Make a nest by cupping hands.)\u00a0<br \/>\nThe little birds rest.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With a wing on the left,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Wiggle left arm like a wing.)\u00a0<br \/>\nAnd a wing on the right, \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Wiggle right arm like a wing.)\u00a0<br \/>\nThe little birds sleep \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Put head down on palms as if<br \/>\n                                                          sleeping.)\u00a0<br \/>\nAll through the night.\u00a0SHHHHHH! \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Put finger over lips.)\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>DON\u2019T WAKE UP THE BIRDIES!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Then up comes the sun.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 (Put arms over your head.)\u00a0<br \/>\nThe dew falls away. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0(Bring down palms.)\u00a0<br \/>\nGood morning!
