{"id":731680,"date":"2022-06-13T22:52:19","date_gmt":"2022-06-13T22:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wacoca.com\/anime\/731680\/"},"modified":"2022-06-13T22:52:19","modified_gmt":"2022-06-13T22:52:19","slug":"video-shows-road-destroyed-in-yellowstone-as-tourists-remain-trapped-in-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wacoca.com\/anime\/731680\/","title":{"rendered":"Video shows road destroyed in Yellowstone as tourists remain trapped in area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  width=\"580\" height=\"385\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hBJ0tuaEXKU\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><br \/>\n<br \/>\n#EastIdahoNews #Yellowstone<\/p>\n<p>YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. \u2014 All entrances to Yellowstone National Park will be closed at least until Thursday due to heavy rain, flooding, rockslides and extremely hazardous conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Aerial video posted on the park\u2019s Facebook page Monday shows a large section of paved road next to a river near the north entrance eroded and washed out in several places due to high water levels.<\/p>\n<p>Similar situations have been reported in other parts of the park, and power is out in many areas following \u201cunprecedented\u201d amounts of rainfall and flooding, according to a news release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur first priority has been to evacuate the northern section of the park where we have multiple road and bridge failures, mudslides and other issues,\u201d said Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Cam Sholly. \u201cDue to predictions of higher flood levels in areas of the park\u2019s southern loop, in addition to concerns with water and wastewater systems, we will begin to move visitors in the southern loop out of the park later today in coordination with our in-park business partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The northern loop is likely to be closed \u201cfor a substantial amount of time,\u201d and park staff is working with the county and state to provide support to residents of Gardiner, Montana, a town north of the park that is isolated by the dangerous conditions.<\/p>\n<p>A family staying at a short-term rental house in Gardiner near the park entrance is unable to leave their rental cabin due to flooding in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Indiana couple Melissa and Parker Manning told CNN they arrived at their rental on Saturday with their family and expected to leave Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s not happening any time soon,\u201d Parker Manning said. \u201cThe water levels were high on Saturday, but within the past 10 to 12 hours, things have gotten rougher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The couple joined a call with emergency management officials Monday afternoon.
