\/>\nyou seen any by the way isle of the Dogs is the\u00a0\u00a0 only Wes Anderson movie I&#8217;ve seen okay i think\u00a0<br \/>\nBottle Rocket Royal Tenon Bombs i haven&#8217;t even seen Royal Tenon Bombs and Rushmore royal Tenon\u00a0<br \/>\nBombs is amazing i hear that all of his stuff is\u00a0\u00a0 amazing yeah well we&#8217;re going to get into some\u00a0<br \/>\nof it right now with Grand Budapest Hotel hope I said that right let&#8217;s go on vacation baby by\u00a0<br \/>\nthe way before we do our reactions we always\u00a0\u00a0 like to check in on our feelings so my fellow\u00a0<br \/>\njujack Roxy how are you feeling today i feel like we could we could make a handshake from\u00a0<br \/>\nbeing the Jew Jacks like do an upside down one yeah yeah that&#8217;s there there we go i&#8217;m feeling\u00a0<br \/>\ngood the sun is out i&#8217;m feeling like I&#8217;m about to watch a movie that people have been telling\u00a0<br \/>\nme to watch forever and so I finally feel like\u00a0\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be cool enough to be able to talk about this\u00a0<br \/>\ni&#8217;ve been pitching this to Greg for 2 years that I wanted to do a West binge so I&#8217;m so excited\u00a0<br \/>\nthat finally we&#8217;re here sweet no better time to do it than when I guess a new Wes Anderson\u00a0<br \/>\nfilm is coming out so yeah I&#8217;m excited i&#8217;ve\u00a0\u00a0 heard incredible incredible things about this\u00a0<br \/>\nfilm as well so I am super excited as you are i&#8217;m having a great day i actually got to sleep\u00a0<br \/>\nagain so that always makes me happy were you\u00a0\u00a0 not sleeping yeah I&#8217;ve been having some issues\u00a0<br \/>\nhealth-wise so but a little bit doing a little bit better in terms of sleeping i know doing a\u00a0<br \/>\nlittle bit better so that&#8217;s good anyways full\u00a0\u00a0 length reaction where you sync up with your own\u00a0<br \/>\ncopy it&#8217;s where you get to watch the whole thing be honest whoa okay beautiful so I know nothing\u00a0<br \/>\nabout his movies but except for he uses like a very specific palette this is exactly what I\u00a0<br \/>\nwould picture a Wes Anderson intro to look like yeah memory of our National Treasure author the Grand Budapest Hotel owner or something oh\u00a0<br \/>\nhe&#8217;s the author of Tom Wilkinson fantastic yeah he&#8217;s the author of the book once the public knows\u00a0<br \/>\nyou&#8217;re a writer and as long as you maintain your ability to look and to carefully listen these\u00a0<br \/>\nstories will continue to Stop it stop it don&#8217;t Don&#8217;t No but I&#8217;m carefully listening you told me\u00a0<br \/>\nto so I am to him who has often told the tales of others many tales will be told sorry [Laughter]\u00a0<br \/>\ndescribe to being at once there it&#8217;s going to be star studded the entire time one evening I noticed a\u00a0<br \/>\nnew presence in our company he was like the rest of us alone but also I must say he was the first\u00a0<br \/>\nthat struck one as being deeply and truly lonely ah Murray Abraham great actor to my surprise\u00a0<br \/>\nhe was distinctly taken aback don&#8217;t you know he asked don&#8217;t you recognize him duh that&#8217;s Mr\u00a0<br \/>\nmustafa himself he arrived early this morning i like his hair yeah me too this name will no\u00a0<br \/>\ndoubt be familiar to the more seasoned persons among you are you seasoned or no mr zero Mustafa\u00a0<br \/>\nwas at one time the richest man in Zubrovka and was still indeed the owner of Budapest he often\u00a0<br \/>\ncomes and stays a week or more three times a year at least he takes only a single bed sleeping room\u00a0<br \/>\nwithout a bath in the rear corner of the top floor\u00a0\u00a0 and it&#8217;s smaller than the service elevator he&#8217;s a\u00a0<br \/>\ncreature of habit roxy Zero Mustafa had purchased and famously inhabited some of the most lavish\u00a0<br \/>\ncastles and palazzos on the continent huh in his own nearly empty hotel he occupied a servant&#8217;s\u00a0<br \/>\nquarters at that moment the curtain rose on a parenthetical domestic drama wow which required\u00a0<br \/>\nthe immediate and complete attention of Mujan give him the Heimlick maneuver but frankly did not\u00a0<br \/>\nhold mine for long it&#8217;s like these characters are over the top but so fitting for this world we&#8217;ve\u00a0<br \/>\npainted interesting this premature intermission in the story of the curious old man had left me as\u00a0<br \/>\nthe expression goes gban Fritzburgen classic did Mr jean have a word or two to share with you about\u00a0<br \/>\nthe aged proprietor of this establishment i did myself inquire about you times have changed see\u00a0<br \/>\nall the keys behind him but I love it key i began to realize that many of the\u00a0<br \/>\nhotel&#8217;s most valued and distinguished guests came for him it seemed to be an essential part of his\u00a0<br \/>\nduties but I believe it was also his pleasure the requirements were always the same huh they had to\u00a0<br \/>\nbe rich old blonde needy oh wow why blonde because they all were he was the most liberally perfumed\u00a0<br \/>\nman I had ever encountered he has what he likes the scent announced his approach from a great\u00a0<br \/>\ndistance oh and lingered for many minutes after he was gone i worked six days each week want their money but he also\u00a0<br \/>\nhe does admire their affection and their love\u00a0\u00a0 as well but uh again I just I I love the the\u00a0<br \/>\ndedication from Ray Fines and in all his line rings but specifically that one just really hit\u00a0<br \/>\nme the hardest and also special shout out i love whenever he says the words darling it just uh he\u00a0<br \/>\nsays it with such contempt and such love and it&#8217;s also very reassuring for us the audience whenever\u00a0<br \/>\nhe does say it and he says it so soft-hearted uh soft-heartedly that I just I appreciate it technical aspects of this are brilliant like this is why\u00a0<br \/>\npeople talk about Wes like he&#8217;s the one of the\u00a0\u00a0 most genius directors of all time uh it&#8217;s just the\u00a0<br \/>\ncolors the shapes the sound the performances the story there was not I if somebody showed this to\u00a0<br \/>\nme and said &#8220;What are your notes?&#8221; No notes this is perfect yeah uh yeah i pretty much or I know\u00a0<br \/>\nI do agree with just about everything you said uh this is one of my favorite films I&#8217;ve reacted\u00a0<br \/>\nto on the channel relationship i love the way they built uh just the I was so\u00a0<br \/>\nconnected with those two and I just love the way it develop I love the way it develops throughout\u00a0<br \/>\nthe film just kind of like I wouldn&#8217;t say he looks down on him but just like you know he&#8217;s very\u00a0<br \/>\nobservant towards him throughout the beginning\u00a0\u00a0 and like what what is he doing here who is Gustaf\u00a0<br \/>\nuh yes Gustaf towards Zero and then again the way they build the rapport and and I just I&#8217;m so\u00a0<br \/>\nconnected with that relationship i mean it&#8217;s the heart of the film obviously and also too I\u00a0<br \/>\nwas so intrigued as well as you with the story like the I was I I didn&#8217;t know what to expect\u00a0<br \/>\ni just knew the name of the film and knew that\u00a0\u00a0 Wes Anderson that&#8217;s all I knew about it i didn&#8217;t\u00a0<br \/>\nknow there was this whole murder mystery and I was like legit riveted by that whole thing i mean I\u00a0<br \/>\nfigured Well even though it&#8217;s not really we kind of know we know Yeah we know Dimmitri and what&#8217;s\u00a0<br \/>\nWilliam whatever William Defo&#8217;s character we know that they&#8217;re obviously the ones who are but it&#8217;s\u00a0<br \/>\nthe journey that you go throughout and it&#8217;s it&#8217;s still fascinating to watch and like seeing what\u00a0<br \/>\nwhat Gustaf has to go through as well in prison and wanting him to be uh wanting it&#8217;s a prison\u00a0<br \/>\nbreak movie yeah it&#8217;s a prison I mean there&#8217;s so\u00a0\u00a0 many different aspects but it&#8217;s a war movie it&#8217;s\u00a0<br \/>\na prison break movie it&#8217;s a murder mystery it&#8217;s a love story it&#8217;s a mentorship story like how is\u00a0<br \/>\nthat h like that&#8217;s crazy that they fit all that in seamlessly tonally too and if you were to tell me\u00a0<br \/>\nthat before we saw I&#8217;d say that&#8217;s that&#8217;s too much in one movie like there&#8217;s no way they&#8217;re going to\u00a0<br \/>\nbe able to execute all that and it was a film and\u00a0\u00a0 a drama it was a dramdy yeah what you said to me\u00a0<br \/>\nreally struck me throughout the film how they&#8217;re able to shift tonally throughout the film and\u00a0<br \/>\nit just so seamlessly it&#8217;s not an easy thing to do because usually you want to pick one tone for\u00a0<br \/>\nthe most part and stick with it the way they&#8217;re\u00a0\u00a0 able to go I mean because you got one character\u00a0<br \/>\nthrowing out cats and then you got go going back into cutting off heads and cutting off heads\u00a0<br \/>\nand fingers coming off i mean this is that&#8217;s\u00a0\u00a0 some gruesome stuff and then you got really really\u00a0<br \/>\nfunny comedy in there and then again going back to what you said then you got prison break stuff the\u00a0<br \/>\nmenteed so well and that it tonally just fits all together it&#8217;s so it&#8217;s well balanced is what I&#8217;m\u00a0<br \/>\ntrying to say dude it&#8217;s perfect that is a perfect\u00a0\u00a0 movie i I can&#8217;t imagine liking a movie better\u00a0<br \/>\nthan that movie i mean that is just a phenomenal phenomenal phenomenal movie i I am curious which\u00a0<br \/>\nOscars it did win do you mind if I start looking no no no start looking that up and again Ray\u00a0<br \/>\nFines I just his deliveries and I I just I love again the the way his character develops and and\u00a0<br \/>\nagain the the mentorship he has for Zero and again kind of like that father figure too and also too\u00a0<br \/>\nwhen we get a little bit more into the backstory\u00a0\u00a0 of Zero as well hearing how he he&#8217;s basically a\u00a0<br \/>\nrefugee and what happened in his country and like how that really strikes a chord as well because\u00a0<br \/>\nand it struck a cord with Ray and it struck\u00a0\u00a0 a chord with Gustav as well i mean like he was\u00a0<br \/>\nalmost speaking as the audience there as well as like his character and it&#8217;s just really impactful\u00a0<br \/>\ndramatic stuff and like it&#8217;s it&#8217;s just this film is it&#8217;s pretty damn close to perfect if it&#8217;s not\u00a0<br \/>\nalready perfect i mean okay I&#8217;m going to tell you\u00a0\u00a0 everything it was nominated for and then you tell\u00a0<br \/>\nme what it won for so So and there was only those five\u00a0\u00a0 nominations so damn good i will say that the I&#8217;ve\u00a0<br \/>\nseen all of these and all of these nominations are really good but I do think I probably would have\u00a0<br \/>\nswapped out Bradley Cooper bradley Cooper i do think so it was a great perform It was a great\u00a0<br \/>\nperformance but I just think that this one was\u00a0\u00a0 so unique and different um and I just he he was\u00a0<br \/>\nlike this by curious icon of a loved loving older women generous snapped on people but but still\u00a0<br \/>\nso kind and generous like and No Way Home and I&#8217;ve also seen him in Have you\u00a0<br \/>\nseen the Scream films i&#8217;ve seen him in Scream 6 I believe so that&#8217;s my filmography that I know him\u00a0<br \/>\nfrom we were at a wedding together once and he and he&#8217;s also friends with Koi he&#8217;s friends with Yeah\u00a0<br \/>\nI met him he&#8217;s such a lovely dude very nice guy and I&#8217;m looking right now at his IMDb next year\u00a0<br \/>\nafter this he did dope but it does look to me like this might have been his first major role he\u00a0<br \/>\nwas phenomenal in this movie phenomenal he I mean\u00a0\u00a0 he was like he was with some heavyweight actors\u00a0<br \/>\nhere and for his first or his breakout role rather like he was really standing standing toe-to-toe\u00a0<br \/>\nwith them in every single scene and I was really impressed by his performance cuz again I he was\u00a0<br \/>\nin a couple episodes of TV prior to this and an\u00a0\u00a0 episode of Entourage an episode of Shameless but\u00a0<br \/>\nthis is one episode yeah but this was his first uh major motion picture yeah no he was\u00a0<br \/>\nincredible and he held his own with a huge\u00a0\u00a0 star i mean obviously 90 I&#8217;d say 80 to 90% of his\u00a0<br \/>\nscenes were with Rafe but still he still had some other scenes with some pretty big heavyweights as\u00a0<br \/>\nwell but still he was he was incredible and again the chemistry was so damn on point with him and\u00a0<br \/>\nand Rafe i&#8217;m glad you told me that that&#8217;s how you pronounce his first name but it was so good a lot\u00a0<br \/>\nof people do what you&#8217;re doing it was so damn good i just I loved them so much to the point where I\u00a0<br \/>\ndidn&#8217;t want anything to happen to the point where\u00a0\u00a0 I was so damn heartbroken when like that&#8217;s how he\u00a0<br \/>\nlost his life was standing up for this individual that&#8217;s how much he meant to him like that is\u00a0<br i have to tell you the craziest\u00a0<br \/>\npiece of trivia that I just opened and saw um\u00a0\u00a0 the scene in which Harvey Kitel uh says &#8220;Good\u00a0<br \/>\nluck kid.&#8221; before slapping zero Tony Revalori across the face how many times do you think that\u00a0<br \/>\nthat was shot until Wes Anderson was satisfied oh I feel bad for Tony and he actually slapped\u00a0<br \/>\nhim each time oh 20 times 42 times oh god he probably had so many it like his face was probably\u00a0<br \/>\nhurting so much after that first days so many but he&#8217;s like a young actor at that point and it&#8217;s\u00a0<br \/>\nlike it&#8217;s Harvey Kitel legendary actor he&#8217;s like\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;Okay I&#8217;ll do whatever you so many times um Tilda\u00a0<br \/>\nSwinton spent 5 hours in makeup i believe that to play 84year-old Dwaga Madame D you know why I\u00a0<br \/>\nbelieve that Roxy we didn&#8217;t even recognize her when I saw her in the credits I was like till\u00a0<br \/>\nthe swing was in uh we&#8217;re not usually working\u00a0\u00a0 with a vast Brockheimr type budget on my film so\u00a0<br \/>\noften we&#8217;re trying a workaround said Wes Anderson but for old age makeup I just said let&#8217;s get the\u00a0<br \/>\nmost expensive people we can that was crazy that was amazing that was really truly crazy according\u00a0<br \/>\nto writer producer and director Wes Anderson the\u00a0\u00a0 cast stayed in the same hotel the hotel Bors in\u00a0<br \/>\nGoritz Germany during principal photography he insisted so Germany clearly um he insisted all\u00a0<br \/>\nmakeup and costume fittings happen in the hotel lobby to speed up filming wow the owner of the\u00a0<br \/>\nhotel appeared in this movie as an extra working the front desk of the Grand Budapest Hotel after\u00a0<br \/>\nfilming ended for the day the crew often returned\u00a0\u00a0 to find him at the front desk of their own hotel\u00a0<br \/>\nthat is so funny it&#8217;s been an interesting site for them like what&#8217;s he doing the prison which\u00a0<br \/>\nis shown twice for two short moments is Kstein Castle close to Shemnitz Germany interesting that\u00a0<br \/>\nthey shot this there uh Wes Anderson sent several of the cast and crew members robes modeled after\u00a0<br \/>\nthe hotel&#8217;s color scheme and Jeff Goldblum wears it every day it&#8217;s my favorite robe he said\u00a0<br \/>\nlike after he&#8217;s done filming you mean yeah oh god he&#8217;s an interesting character in\u00a0<br \/>\nan interview Sir Chiron said &#8220;Making the\u00a0\u00a0 hotel signature confection the whatever shaklat\u00a0<br \/>\nwasn&#8217;t easy unlike most movies the foods play an integral part and required the actual making of\u00a0<br \/>\na pastry.&#8221; That&#8217;s got to be very difficult this was the highest independent grossing highest\u00a0<br \/>\ngrossing independent movie of 2014 and the\u00a0\u00a0 highest grossing limited release movie of 2014\u00a0<br \/>\ngood for it because awesome it deserved it it&#8217;s the highest grossing movie to date of writer\u00a0<br \/>\nproducer and director Wes Anderson&#8217;s there&#8217;s a lot of things\u00a0<br \/>\nyou don&#8217;t pick up like that when when we&#8217;re I was trying to read them but you know we don&#8217;t pause\u00a0<br \/>\nthem because we&#8217;re reacting so we&#8217;re going fast\u00a0\u00a0 yeah when you&#8217;re at home you can be like wait\u00a0<br \/>\nwhat and I do that at home all the time i do too for sure i pause so often or rewind so often\u00a0<br \/>\njust cuz I want to get all the Easter eggs and all the the fun stuff all the info too for sure\u00a0<br \/>\ndamela Lansbury was originally cast as Madame D she had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts\u00a0<br \/>\nwith the stage production of Driving Miss Daisy\u00a0\u00a0 huh well Tilda Swinton was pretty damn good i\u00a0<br \/>\nmean how unbelievable was that that&#8217;s crazy to me that&#8217;s crazy that&#8217;s some of them cool great stuff\u00a0<br \/>\nwell any final thoughts uh got to go download the score get me out of here what&#8217;s up i gotta
