Unfortunately for Mima, her life takes a surreal turn as she becomes the victim of stalking by a not-so-pleased fan. A profound exploration of some of the psychology behind Japan&#8217;s idol culture, &#8220;Perfect Blue&#8221; has long been held as a landmark example of more serious, narrative-driven Japanese animation noteworthy also for having Satoshi Kon&#8217;s trademark surrealist directorial touch.<\/p>\n<p>In this scene, Mima (voiced by Junka Iwao), pays a visit to her former band-mates at their local radio show.
